Alot of debate seems to be going on in other threads about whether Jenas is good enough for us next season. Some people think we should build the midfield around him for next season. Others like me believe we could do better. As I have said before it is not physical or technical ability that he lacks, it's his mental attributes, I am not convinced he will ever improve.

Apologies if this has been done before.

Seconded, though he's good enough as rotation player but unfortunately he wants regular spot even he isn't good enough if you want to compete for CL spot

Yes he's plenty good enough.

i'm not sure why people think it's so easy to just magic up a top class CM when you're 11th in the league, but whatever.

Is he good enough for top four? No. But we are a long way from that at the moment and I'm not seeing many realistic targets that could improve on him.

Shouldn't build the midfield around him, but he's more than capable of being the number 2 centre midfielder.

Well! I could'nt see man utd, chelsea or arsenal putting in a bid for him now so.... NO.

In order to improve and start competing with the big boys we need better players. A very good squad player he may be, but he would'nt get into a top, top team.

Plenty of other managers have managed it. Kranjcar, Muntari, Cahill, Arteta, Elano, and Nolan come to mind. I'm not saying they are better than Jenas, I cant as I dont watch them every week I just see MOTD highlights. The point is, great players have to come from somewhere, there's no reason we cant get them before top clubs go for them.

Muntari & Kranjcar blow about as hot and cold as Jenas. Cahill is not top class, Arteta is great, I'll give you that. Elano started great but has had massive issues with consistency & Nolan has been shit for 2 years.

I just don't believe they grow on trees & when they are actually as top class as we're expecting, every CL team and their dog will be after them

Thinking we can get Lucho from a regular CL team is bordering on laughable.

I agree with you on Lucho, he's loved at Porto I can't see him leaving for the 11th placed team in the Prem. I reckon we'd have a good chance of getting Van der Vaart, although he doesn't seem to fit into Ramos' system.

They dont grow on trees, that what we have scouts for. Its time for Comolli and co to earn their money.

I agree, I don't see why there is this all or nothing attitude. He's had a good season under Juande, showed real improvement, and there is little reason to believe he won't continue to improve.

He would definately expect a first team spot. Therefore if we were to get someone better in, rather than have him second choice sitting on the bench watching his value drop, I'd cash in. Especially with how over priced english players are at the moment. Let the Hudd be number 2.
