jenas is the only player that I think sucks for us. good first half of the season and now does nothing.

He is a good player with exceptional potential, whether he fulfills it or not is the question
that is relevant. He was always going to be a late developer due to his introverted personality.

Personally I dont want a personality like his anywhere near our team.

Compare Jenas with Scholes, who also has an introverted personality. Scholes still has that drive and determination, you can see it in his face, he's also alot more intellegent than JJ.

He looks like he's playing with an injury to me.

His ankle perhaps?

I'm a Jenas fan... but do you not think last night was a good case for Zokora and Huddlestone, rather than JJ and Huddlestone? In the second half our midfield was hugely improved - not hard I know - from the first half.

JJ had a WOEFUL night last night and the fact that this board isn't murdering him shows how much constant goals against The Scum helps him win us over!

Still havnt seen anything from last nights game, so cant really comment on what happend there

You see, this is where I start to wonder. It's a viewpoint I've taken in the past, but should Jenas be that dependent on who he's partnered with? Instead of querying JJ's partner, shouldn't we start to question JJ himself?

I just think JJ sacrifises some parts of his game to help Zokora, who inturn looks better than he may do if JJ just worked on his best part of the game, its a fair question to ask, and maybe we should be looking at Jenas more to see why him and Zokora dont work as well, or why he can only play with certain people....

i just think that he tracks back helping cover and putting in tackles which means he is covering more ground which will make it harder for him to do the forawrd runs which is his best part of the game (attacking, not the runs) for 90 mins, if he had someone who would do the work more in defence and capibale of doing it (Zokora can do it in defence, but midfield i still strugle to see him doing well) then i think we see the best out of Jenas

I only listened to the radio commentary, but inside the first three or four minutes (if that) Parry was complaining that he'd got caught dithering on the ball and given away possession. Apart from the free-kick, did he actually do anything of note?

First question - Nope

Second question - Of course.

Yes i know i'm an idiot...but i compared Jenas with The Hudd yesterday. Very amateurish but i REALLY worked on beeing objective and was lucky they got 45 mins each.

Passing

Good Passes - Jenas 3 Hudd 10
Bad Passes - Jenas 3 Hudd 2
Medium qual - Jenas 2 Hudd 4

Strong/Weak challanges in midfield

Jenas 0/4 - Huddlestone 9/0

Freekicks

Good freekicks - Jenas 1 Hudd 1
Bad freekicks - Jenas 1 Hudd 0
Medium qual - Jenas 1 Hudd 1

Corners

Good corners - Jenas 0 - Hudd 2
Bad corners - Jenas 1 - Hudd 2
Medium qual - Jenas 1 - Hudd 1

Jenas has been trading on his 'potential' ever since he was at Forest.

He didn't make much of an impact with the Barcodes and he is still only really 'potential' with Spurs.

Overall, he just isn't good enough - there are plenty better and we ought to get them in, quick!

JJ is good enough at the moment, but I'd like to think that come the start of next year JJ and a few others will be good back up squad players, here's hoping anyway.

Jenas is a good player, but doesn't have the craft on the ball to make it at the highest level I'm afraid. The guy can run and shoot, but he doesn't have the composure on the ball or the vision to make either a raking cross-field or killer short pass. That's why he'll never do well consistently, as the better teams will starve him of room and he won't break be able to break free from the shackles.

The Hudd is the only one in our midfield who has enough class to take us to a higher level. However, his lack of athleticsm will always let him down and just to think that, if he had Jenas' ability to get around the pitch, we'd have a world class player on our hands.

It will be very interesting to see what our new management can do for him during preseason. He has already improved alot and i think we can see more of this in the beginning of next season. :)

thats the trouble with our midfielders, they all have weak parts of their game and if we look at Jenas not being good enough, then we will need an entire new midfield, as he is still better than the others at his best

Hudd moves like a tank, but has the best passing range in the team

Steed has fantastic work rate/tackles, but not much else

Lennon very quick, able to beat his man, but is let down by his final ball

Jenas great box to box, has the ability, but his consistency lets him down

Zokora - no comment

this next transfer window is really important, hopefully we get it right, looking forward to it actually, Juande being let lose with his targets :)

after all, the January transfer window was a success, only downer was Defoe going, but that was understandable

Fitness = premiership
Composure = championship

Jenas is not the player to build a midfield around. He's a good squad player, but probably a bit expensive for that role.

I'd say he's our most technically gifted midfielder out of the lot.

Hudd for me, just love his passing range and he can strike a ball so well, as someone else said combine Jenas and the Hudd and we have a world class player

I aint the biggest Steed fan to be honest, I am not going to hide that, though as I have said in other posts he does deserve some credit for his commitment every match, why he is so liked. I just don't see him as an allround player that is good enough to help us go for a CL place though

He aint the fastest player, gets caught in position and doesn't contribute enough goals from midfield, a better Version of Michael Brown

just think his fantastic commitment is clouding some peoples judgements on his actual ability, though I support him whenever he is playing, would never boo a Spurs player

but whats a forum without opinions, would be boring if everyone was agreeing with each other

I agree with you on Lucho, he's loved at Porto I can't see him leaving for the 11th placed team in the Prem. I reckon we'd have a good chance of getting Van der Vaart, although he doesn't seem to fit into Ramos' system.

They dont grow on trees, that what we have scouts for. Its time for Comolli and co to earn their money.
this is naive! We have NO chance whatsoever of getting VDV. Reality is not Football Manager. Reality is he's being linked with Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea and Valencia. He'll play an awesome EC and will join a CL contender.
