Great player always gave 100% scored some great goals as well - the one against Arsenal and the overhead kick against United spring to mind - sits very comfortably in the top 10 strikers Ive seen at Tottenham

I loved Defoe, God I feel old as I remember him when he was a youngster, think he scored in like 12 games in a row for Bournemouth.

He was offside a fair bit but he clearly played the percentages. You make 10 of those runs a game, two may come off and you score... so I dont mind offsides as I can see the risk and reward.

One of our best strikers and also a great guy on a humane level. He seems like such a great guy which I hugely respect.

Loved him to bits when he played for us, he'll always be in my top 5 Spurs players of all time.

Best of luck Jermain.

He was always fast. Racking up those points for speeding in his Range Rovers.
.
But on the pitch he gave his all. You can't ask for anything more. Have a good retirement.

He’d only signed for Sunderland in January?

Maybe he was finding it too tough as can see he hadn’t scored - he’d been doing quite well in Scotland prior to that.

Loved him. Scored loads and wound up the spammers. Went far beyond what was expected with Bradley in Sunderland and it must've been difficult for him. I think he'll go into coaching because it sounds like he was doing a bit at Rangers and he also played a role in mentoring young players like Kane when he was here.

Seems like a type who really really loves football, think he will probably stay in business as a coach or something similar.

Great goal scorer, and seems like a top bloke too. He scored an awful lot of goals for us. Well done Harry for bringing him back.

Terrific player who could score goals out of nothing, and a fantastic ambassador for the game. Hopefully the recent exposure he’s getting on Sky paves the way for a lot of punditry (unless he goes into coaching as some have suggested).

One of the most exciting players we have had at the Club.

And moreover a true gentlemen, i have met him on three occasions and every time he has stopped signed an autograph for me or my brother and has talked to us pre or post game, win, draw or loss.

Get him training our youth strikers.
Absolutely – Jermain seems like he'd be a top top top youth coach. There are countless stories of the impact he's had directly on youth players, even our own Harry Kane.

I'd imagine he'd like a bit of a break after a long career. But if he decides he's interested in coaching, I hope we'll give him an opportunity here.

One of the reasons I chose Spurs as my EPL team as an American. I bought my 5 yr old niece the purple Aurasma jersey of his for Xmas last year off eBay and she wears it as a nightie. Would love to see him back at the club in any capacity
