I didn't see the game today but I'm just wondering whether Ramos has given JJ more freedom and more encouragement to go forward whereas BMJ put more restrictions on him.

Any thoughts?

JJ should have had a hat trick today was a real shame he didnt. Probably his best game since Derby. A lot more direct and full of running as ever. The way he took his second goal was cool as you like

Highly unlikley, if anything he'll do the oppossite. Renato and Poulsen both played very restricted, disciplined roles and it seems that the same is true of Keita and Poulsen.

Oh well, there goes that theory!

I don't get this "he runs his bollocks off" means he is a good player. There must be a reason why TOP midfielders like Gerard, Lampard, and Fabregas don't run as much as him. Why? Because they don't have to and not because they can't; at least I'm sure Gerard can. Of course, part of the reason is because they play with better players so they don't have to do everything themselves. However, another crucial reason is because they play more intelligently in terms of their movements with the ball and off the ball so you don't see them needing to run back 50 yards all the time after losing the ball in the opposite half.

I cringe when someone says JJ is an intelligent player. He isn't. If passing sideways and backwards all the time makes him an intelligent player then Dawson is a genius. His best asset is his runs into the boxes. He can't seem to create for nuts and his sidepieces has gone to pieces since last season.

He is a decent player who is our best goal threat as a midfielder but that is about it. He doesn't cut it as an enforcer as he isn't tough enough, and he certainly isn't creative enough to be a playmaker. I don't deny that he is one of our best midfielders but that says more about the lack of quality we have than his qualities. IMO Steed Malbranque has shown much more than him thus far in this season. Once again, running yourself to the ground doesn't mean you are a great player. If we need players who can cover long distances, then we might as well head to Kenya and get those long-distance runners over.

Oh for gods sake. ONE good game in about twenty and suddenly we're all licking his balls. This type of performance is exactly what infuriates me about Jenas - Most of the time, he just desnt try.

I still think there are way better players than him at Sours, and after another few dreary Jenas games he will be on everybodys shit list again - where he belongs.

1 good game in 10 is what we consider acceptable?
1 in 10 is not a decent ratio for RIBENA, let alone a premiership footballer.

I don't rate Jenas at all, but in all fairness he had a good game today.
We are a great club and we deserve a great central midfield. I truly believe there are hundreds of midfielders who could do a better and more consistent job than Jenas. Spurs are too good for JJ

For me, Jenas is the definition of an enigma. He clearly has the talent, but so may times he is frustratingly invisible. He has the athleticism to be a superb box-to-box player, but too often is neither helping the defence or supporting the strikers.

For me he has the ideal raw material for Wendy to work with. His pace and stamina would make him a prime candidate to develop. He just needs to be told what to do when.

However, if he really isn't producing the goods on a regular basis by the summer I think he'll be "jogged on" for a more consistent performer.

Because we dont play championship sides like Wigan every week who also have a circus player like Titearse bramble!
We are lucky to get a good/productive game out of Jenas every 6 weeks!
He is on borrowed time!

He took his goals very well, especially the second one. That's got to count for something. On the other hand, is his passing technique anything like as good as Lampard or Gerrard, if he wants to be the new Lampard or Gerrard?

Ridiculous, In two games this season he has performed - against Derby (who doesn't?) and a very poor Wigan team. What he needs is consistency. Does nothing to convince me we will see him on a decent run - lets review after the next half dozen games.......

Okay, credit where credit is due, he had a great game today, unlucky not to get a hatrick.

Praise enough, one great game doesn't make a great player.

Do this every week JJ, you've got the ability, now apply it week in week out.

great game today JJ well done, pleased for him and the team. however he did this earlier in the season at home to derby and now a poor wigan side. start doing this consitently against decent opposition, and then he will get continuous praise instead of very divided opinions.

JJ is our best midfielder and should be captain ahead of robbie
Eek You can't be serious...

Yes, he had a great game today.....against as SHITE team. But if he can have a run of these games against better sides i'll definitely cheer him.

The thing about captain is so stupid so it can't even be answered.
