Is our best midfielder at the club PERIOD. Stats back this up to the nth degree. It doesn't matter how you look at it, he's our best player in the middle.

So can people please STFU about dropping him.

Is it because you think he's cute, with nice legs ?? If not it's the local nuthouse for you !!!!!

According to statistics he constantly covers more ground than any other player at least at the club, but I think the Premiership in general! He does a lot of tackling and breaking up play and RARELY gives away free-kicks. He is an intelligent player and stands head and shoulders above our other midfielders IMHO.

He has his down points at times but to drop him would be ridiculous.

He is VERY prone to going sideways, but lack of movement around him prohibits him perhaps from being more creative. He’s very good at keeping the ball.

Jenas covers the most ground !!!:clap::clap:

We'd be better off with a sit 'n' ride lawnmower.

have either of you ever played the game, do you undertsand the game?

What Jenas gives us is an engine, a 110% commitment (unlike some), he is box to box and even with his injuries he bagged us 7 or 8 goals last year. Take him out and we will be overrun. I suppose to be rated in your book a player has to be able to 'nuts' someone, or cruyff turn someone. You clearly do not see what his role is in our team. Jol clearly does, thank god for that!

You may be right, BUT, he does f*ckall with the ball, he can't tackle and he gets blown over by a passing feather!!!!!

He clearly is the best we got in that position.

If thats our best, then it aint good enough.

That is all.

Yet it was his pass that unlocked Man Citys defence for Keanes goal at the end of last season. It was the movement or lack of it at the weekend that killed the game for us.

Are movement is fucking shit especially away from home and until that changes our away form will always suffer.

[Yawn]... I wondered how long it would be before the inevitable gay-jokes surfaced. I couldn't give a fuck if Jenas is too thin/too pretty/too gay/looks like Pob - its a sport not bloody eugenics & it doesn't make someone gay or insane to think that Jenas should start for us.

As someone who usually makes sense, its disappointing that when it comes to Jenas you get insulting. If you disagree with someone just beat them with a good argument instead of playground talk.

right, so without JJ our midfield contributes how many goals?

If JJ wasnt doing the job of two midfielders (i.e acting as a defensive midfielder but at the same time getting forward to support), then perhaps he may please some of you.

Lampard gets massive praise, what apart from his goals does Lampard offer Chelsea? Im not saying JJ is better cos he isnt, but please understand that his role is also the 'bits and pieces' man, the non glamorous stuff. JJ is getting a load of stick and he was one of our better players. The strikers were a disgrace on saturday, yet not one person has slagged off keanes complete inability to beat his man or pick the right pass. A clueless clown, the old Keane!

Have read very little of what has been said above but would like to state my opinion on our Jenas/midfield issue, i think coz of the sunderland game everyones concerned in general, no one should make many conclusions from many first day fixtures!

Anyone Jenas, most fellow yids like him and make point s towards his willingness to run which in all fairness he does but for fuck sake sumtimes we might aswell have Paula Radcliffe in the midfield if all he does is run, his passing ability is average to poor at best he shows, between him and DZ there is clearly know drive our leadership in their, the nearest we get is an occasial Didier poor tackle or surge! In my opinion while MJ sticks to his guns with JJ we will never be a top 4 side, the sad case of affaires is that personally i think Huddlestones lack of mobility will always work against him due to the way the modern game is played especially in the Prem.

Lets jus all hope the Prince has the ability to back up all this front, and Jol see's sense in the Jenas problem and next time he spends 16 odd million on a replacement!#

Really keen to hear opinions on what ive said...

I think to try to compare Keanos contribution to spurs with JJ's contribution is ridiculous.

Not intended as a gay joke, thought Liberty was a bird. Anyway I do think Jenas is a pointless member (no joke there either) of our team, apart from a handful of goals, one or two importantly timely, he offers us nothing of what we need, i.e vision, ingenuity, control and purpose. Therefore it really riles me when people talk him up, seemingly through rose tinted spectacles.
