I want him but think we should look at younger options first, that said, how old is Adebayor?

KJH is a year younger than rafa... doesn't matter anyway because he is klaas (LOL). I can't see schalke selling their best striker.

Never been convinced by KJH. He's like a taller, slower Defoe. Maybe he'll get a wider variety of goals than 'The Blaster' over the course of the season but I'm convinced he'd never get a regular starting place at any top team.

Huntelaar has a 17m buyout clause and probably on lower wages than Adebayor. Could be a good option and he'd link up with his mate Vdv.

Work rate and link up play is not as good as Adebayor though. Ade is almost perfect with Spurs if the other "attacking midfielders" could chip in a few more goals. That and we need a good alternative to rotate with Ade.

Still, for £17m, your getting a top quality, clinical striker...would be a good deal for sure.

Absolute bullocks. He's more like a taller, slower Linekar.

He's hardly slow and to compare him to Defoe is frankly embarrassing.
Have you watched Huntelaar's control and technical ability?

Never been his big fan. IMO Schalke is the highest level for this guy...
Is that level higher or lower or about the same as us currently?

Aren't Schalke in next season's CL while we're in the Europa?

I think the guy is a finisher, I think we need a finisher. I think if we kept the likes of Modric, Bale, VdV and Lennon all playing well and creating chances this guys movement, control and finishing would mean he was lethal

He scored goals for fun in Holland, he has reproduced that in Germany now (and the Budasliga is generally considered a good measure of ability to perform in our own league) even if he had difficult spells at Real and Milan (even Schneider was less than successful at Real so its not reason to write the guy off)

If we brought in upgrades for our squad so we had even more creative talent at our disposal and was able to rotate and keep them all fresh and match fit for the whole season I think he could score a RVP amount of goals considering the chances we'd be able to present him with

His goal scoring record is reasonable with both Real and AC. Nearly 1 in 2 for Real Madrid, 1 in 3 for AC.

He'd score goals for us, no two ways about it.

Will Levy sanction £17m for an (almost) 29 year old though?

He wouldn't have much resale value if we kept him for a few years, but then Levy has sanctioned deals for Bentley who while younger contributed next to nothing as a player and has saw his value plummet to the extent we'd have to give him away and be lucky to do so.

I agree, its likely Levy will want someone younger for that money but sometimes you have to buy for the now and if Hunterlaar scored the volume of goals that restored our CL status surely the money that would generate would offset his declining value.

Depends if he can attract either a cheaper alternative of a younger alternative I guess

Nicely said.

Sometimes contribution on the pitch has to be factored into the equation - as well as "Resale Value" - resale value is awfully negative if you ask me - buying someone and already thinking about how much you can get for them when you flog them, that's no way to run a football club, really.

We have to concentrate now on impact on the pitch. Will he get the goals to make us challenge for major honours? If he ticks that box, get him in.

especially when youth is not always a guarantee of future value

Bentley was young and proved that value can reduce to zero regardless

While Pavlyuchenko didn't work for us, i see there is not reason for KJH to succesed with us, unless we are replacing VDV with some like Iniesta or Hazard .. and if we signed someone with a bit similar qualiter to those players, Defoe can work wonders for us ( even if i'm not his fan ! ) ..

Let's keep Adebayor and work on Damio & someone like Ruiz ( Fulham ) , this would be long term idea.

Honestly? Personally I think Schalke is on lover level than Spurs right now. Yes, they're in next season's Champions League, but don't forget that they qualify from Bundesliga, not Premier League... For me U can't even compare level of this two league's. Obviously, this is my personal opinion.
