No I do.

Think he'd struggle here with his lack of pace, strength and alround game. He's another Pav/Defoe.

That's all secondary to the real question:

Is Huntelaar who you think he is or is this the real face of Huntelaar:

Wrong it's better

More competitive, better stadiums, cheaper to watch and you can stand up

Bingo! All true, much more equitable league and financially set up so billionaires can't rort it like abramovich has done to the EPL.

There is a lot to like in the bundesliga. To say its championship material is ludicrous. You only have to look at their national team and its average age to know its a fantastic league.

Huntelaar...good player, fee is too big now, too risky. We had our chances years ago and baulked, can't see it being any different now.

I think signing Huntelaar is a no brainer, he's better than anyone we've signed in the last 5 years and his goal rate is astonishing and that includes at International level.

The fact a player like this is available for £17m makes it a bargain - strikers are always overpriced and we should go all out to get him signed IMO.

Van Persie is older than Huntelaar by 3 weeks and if sold this summer will go for £35m+

We all saw what a difference a goal scorer like Van Persie can make to a team - frankly £17m pays for itself in one year if it is the difference between getting CL football next season and not.

We are Spurs, not City, not Chelsea and not Utd - thus we have to be realistic on the level of striker we can get with the amount of money we have to spend (with circa. £17m being our top end budget by most accounts).

Never been impressed when I`ve seen him play, but he scores goals. 1 shot and 60% pass completion yesterday..

He does strike me as the kind of player that we could reasonably sign. I wonder what his relationship with VdV is like.

He really can't play with his back to goal at all.
If we signed a holdup person with him then I'm sure he'd get his goals but if we signed him now it would be the same problem as when we had Keane/Defoe/Pav.

To be fair he got no service yesterday so you cant really expect much can you and for a team with Sneijder, Robben, Affelay and Van Persie they weren't much of a attacking threat and holland's biggest threat was VDV playing as a CM

he can play as a lone striker with a cf just behind though.

with Raul as the cf at schalke he scored 30+ goals this season, we havent had that prolific a striker since Berba or Jurgen

Not good enough, this tournament has shown that he is a level below what we need. Easily pushed off the ball and isnt enough of a threat for me to play up front on his own. If he doesnt look dangerous in that front 5 hes not got it.

i agree he's been poor at the euros, but if a 30 goal a season striker in one of europes top leagues is below our level, who are we realistically looking at?
any player in the 'level' above that is not going to join us and even if they did would set us back £30 million

He wasnt wholly prolific in his stints at big clubs outside of holland/germany though was he. I think youd be suprised how many goals some players in the premiership rated as just "good" strikers would accumulate in those divisions. In the premier league i think he would be wholly shown up.

on the other hand though, demba ba etc werent massively prolific in the bundesliga and have proven themselves in england.
i think the bundesliga is more similar to the prem than people give it credit for, its not at the same level, i agree but it is similiar in playing style and is 3rd best in europe i think

i think german league is the third strongest, however i think its easier to score lots of goals for german teams than for premier league. Id also say that ba's game is more suited to the prem than to german league due to natural strength aerial ability and power whereas hunterlaar is a great finisher but lacks many of the attributes needed in the premier league. These include pace and power.

One of their problems in this tournament was not having a permanent presence in the box, how many chances did all those attackers create for him yesterday?

Apart from two goals, did RVP, VDV or Robben do anything of note in this tournament? Are they useless too?

Never judge a player on international tournaments.

His time at Real and Milan are well documented and shouldn't be used as a baton to beat him with.

with the likes of lennon, bale, dos santos, remy(if he signs) playing around Huntelaar ..

being a slow player wont be an issue for Huntelaar in my opinion .. as all he would provide us (with great effect) is holding the ball releasing either of them type of players i mentioned .. getting in the box .. and bobs your uncle .. goal (y)

and he certainly knows where the goal is .. he would be my 1st choice striker

What you've described is not Huntelaar's main assets (namely holding the ball up) that's not what he's about. His hold up play is famously not that clever.

We've been linked to KJH for as long as I can remember. He's like the Dutch Stewart Downing.
