Dier is probably most important player in the XI....coz no other player gives the side the tactical flexibility than Dier.Without Dier, Poch cannot change 3-4-3 to a 4-2-3-1 or viceversa at a whim.
This is why regardless of position, he is always in XI...infact for the entire 3 years of Poch management
The bloke is irrelevant; I wish we'd stop quoting him on here.
if he stays this coming season, i'd not be shocked to see him want to stay for our 1st season in the new stadium. at the end of that he would be due a testimonial (I take it he qualifies even if he has played 2 seasons away on loan)
There are very few 23 year old CB's out there that are better than Eric Dier with his kind of potential. He is an important member of the team and one of Poch's favourites. Will be an important player for as long as Pochettino is here imo.Dier is clearly weakest player in our xi .Yes it would take 2 players squad wise to replace him .But at end of day he is back up DM and 3rd choice CB .Dont think there was a point last season where everybody was fit ,so he was always covering someone .In a 3-4-3 there are much better CB out there .And he is clearly behind wanyama .Yes he is a useful squad player but the statement being weakest in xi was correct .
Sky sports are reporting now that Kyle Walker will not push for a move. Ffs man i hate that programme. Throw some crap at a wall and some will stick
If he won't push for a move then I'd just keep him personally lol.
Less disruption on squad and we can concentrate on other areas to strengthen.
What would you have him do for you? Take the bins out? Feed the cats? Can you afford his wages?
Dier is clearly weakest player in our xi.
What a ridiculous statementSell Walker/Dier and go for Van Dijk and another high quality midfield option.
On top of that he is a good footballer with good technique and ability.
I think Poch thinks very highly of him
This is key. I'd had employees that weren't the most talented or absolute best at what they did but they were good and above all I could trust them. They got the way I wanted to do things and so were valued very highly. I get the feeling Dier is definitely this for Poch.As well as his character/attitude being the epitome of what Pochettino wants from his players.
