Why would anyone take that bet?

Most wouldn't. That's why bookies give those odds, so people don't do it. Bookies don't want to pay out if punters win.

Bit like car insurance. They might give a 17 year old a quote on a Nissan Skyline but it'll but so unaffordable no one in their right mind would do it.

I just had a small search on the net and it seems its betfred offering 1/8 and only them offering a set bet
at all.
Everyone else is more interested in the likes of Saga, Falcao etc.

So is it likely or unlikely ?

Confused as fuck here :)

These odds are to protect the bookies from big losses should the bet come in.
However, not all odds are based on facts or information. Most are based on betting patterns. If a punter walks in to Coral and puts £100k on Leandro signing for Spurs they will take notice. A bet like that may be based on inside info the punter has.

I don't know if anyone else thinks this but I haven't seen anything in any of all the YouTube videos of LD that tells me that he is worth all the hassle. I admit, I haven't seen him in any live games so YouTube is all I have to go by. Every year the club seems to waste its time on this guy, if he wanted to join us, he would by now. I think we should move on.

You would think, that after all this time/effort, Damiao might have shown some outward desire to come to Tottenham. It's been years/windows now, and while he is an Internacional player, if he wanted the move as badly as we want him, he realistically could have forced it.

He's 23, it's not as though he's 20 years old. Yes, his prime is still in front of him, but he needs to take the next step soon, and we're pretty much ready to give him the keys to the club, yet he's still at Internacional and we've still got our noses pressed to the glass asking "How much is that striker in the window?"

It's time to put a hard-cap on the time we want to spend/waste on this guy. I'd say give it another 5 days, if he and his club want to continue to drag their feet, simply say fuck it and move on. It's honestly in the best interest for us. Because if he's not serious about us, we'll just find ourselves empty-handed and when Adebayor goes off to the ACN, we will then be grasping at straws and have Dempsey playing out of position and claiming he's adequate cover.

Liked avbs tactics yesterday. Basically letting leandro think he is the nuts and we can't chase him. When LD sees no one else is in for him his ego will be so well groomed he'll make the decision to come himself. Basic car salesman technique.

He is not coming. Same old ITK, same old bookies stories. This thread will be coming again in the summer. I just hope he signs for someone else so we can have a new player to be linked with for the next 4 or 5 windows!

If you believe what the ITKs have been saying its not Leandro who is the problem. He is quite willing to join us but Inter keep moving the goalposts plus there are grey areas over his ownership rights. Its just complicated transfer to complete.

I like him though he reminds me of a young RVN.

On Sandro's Wiki it has this comment about 3rd party ownership which may be of interest
Internacional's financial report stated that the fee was R$ 20,633,850, with about 25% re-distributed by Inter to third party owners.[13]

I don't really get all the hype to be honest, I have watched the clips and also watched a couple of live matches he was involved in, cant say im too infatuated with him join us, just doesnt seem to justify all the effort (and money) in my opinion.

But then, he did do a cool Ardiles/rainbow flick once.

Unpopular opinion warning, given all the hype:

Someone name the last successful Brazilian striker in the Prem, please.

Brazilian, thus overrated, all you need to know.
Not many things I'm certain of, but Brazilian striker failing in a fast-paced physical league, is a given.

If Spurs don't get him they're dodging a bullet.

Oh dear.

I think you'll find that few Brazilian strikers have ever come to the PL.

Robinho, Jo and Alves being the only i can think of in recent history. Robinho was never a proper striker and actually did ok for City in his first season he back 14 goals in 34 games and as i say he isn't a proper out and out striker in that sense.

Then as with other strikers at City (Balotelli, Tevez, Dzeko, RsC, Adebayor etc.. etc..) he fell out of favour and was pretty much sidelined from the first team and made a move out of the club.

Jo was never a good striker to start with. And Alves flattered to deceive in the Eridivisie.

Also 'fast-paced and physical' shows that you know very little about the Brazilian league. It certainly can be a physical league, at least on a part with most European leagues in that sense - and you wouldn't complain in that way if the striker was coming from Spain or Italy would you?

Don't forget that the temperatures and sometimes altitudes that the players in Brazil play in make them, for the most part, at least as fit and able to play at a fast pace as most PL players.

But yeh, your point is the same as saying that no: German, Belgian, Portuguese, etc... etc... striker has ever been a success in the PL.
