The fact that he will put in a defensive shift and randomly win you a few games a season in the attack makes him quite the player. Is he world class, maybe not, but he is effin good.

Always feel he looks more dangerous when he drifts into the middle of the pitch. Fullbacks know how to cope with him but Centrebacks are scared to go near him. Would be interesting to see him played there, but then we'd need an effective winger (both attacking and defensively) to replace him on the right side.

This reminds me of when Jol played him behind the front two against Charlton and he destroyed them, that was so wierd yet it worked. :D

Jesus, talk about unwarranted superlatives!

He's a good squad player no doubt but there is a valid reason behind pursuing talent like Wilian and Isco and to say he's our player of the year is laughable.

He's been our best player this season. By a considerable distance.

Yep, I'd tend to agree with this. Fantastic work rate, super consistent.

Yet super consistent of scoring less than a handful of league goals each season and creating a similar amount of assists.

When Bentley was signed it gave him the necessary kick up the ass and that season and the following season were his best at the club/

An upgrade on Lennon would probably cost you about £25m. It's the same story with Benni really. Both are very good players who just aren't valued highly enough by some of our fans. Who in the PL would be a genuine upgrade on Benni? Baines? He will cost you £20m. An upgrade on Lennon would be the echelon of player of Mata, Hazard, Cazorla, Nasri (debatable on current form), Silva, Valencia. Only one of those players (valencia) is an out and out winger like lennon, and you would not get much change out of £20m for any of those players, and very few of them moved for under £20m. We have other areas that need improving a lot more than LB and RW. CM/AM abd CF most notably. Sort out those two positions and then we can start thinking about upgrading the Bennis and Lennons of our team.

Benny is one of the best LB in the league. Lennon is nowhere near best RM/W in the league. And saying Nasri isnt better than Lennon is laughable. I would take Milner ahead of Lennon every day of the week and that's why Citeh paid £28m for him and they didnt offer us £28m for Lennon.

Underestimating Lennon. Just his presence in the side is of vital importance. He's been a great player for us, and he runs his socks off for the cause. I love Azza and want to see him at the Club for the rest of his career.

Like people dissing Benny are missing him now, it would be the same if we lost Lennon. Like someone said above, who is better than him that we can even buy anyway? I can't think of anyone. He's been more consistent than Bale this season so far, and there's a reason why the left wing has been more exposed to attacks this season, Lennon's defensive work is fantastic. He's also improved drastically in his final third ball distribution. Most of Adebayor's headed goals last season were from Lennon provided crosses.

There's only one Aaron Lennon, don't forget that. Blud.

Well lets hope he keeps up these great performances hes putting and hope real madrid and barac aren't on the hunt for a right sided defensive winger who plays nearly every game and cant get in to double figures for assists and goals for the season.

Don't worry guys im sure he still be at spurs for the next 5 seasons running his heart out.

That was the point where your post lost any credibility. Your whole post is absurd

Lennon creates, Lennon creates space for others just by being there (two defenders always try to defend against him which creates space for Bale or others) and Lennon is superb defensively.

I wouldnt touch Nasri with yours and certainly wouldnt take Milner. Lennon is an old fashioned winger and there arent too many of them about.

Its the least intelligent of football fans who would sooner point to statistics than watch the game of football. The fact of the matter is that Azza scares the shit out of fullbacks, he stretches defenses and in recent years has improved his decision making/defending 10 fold. You're being a Tw**.

Milner's last season at Villa was immense, the same season Lennon had his best for us. Milner was voted in the EPL team of the season and won young player of the year. He played 49 matches and scored 12 goals with 12 assists. Lennon was 22/3 goals/9 assists.

You think that if Lennon went to Citeh, he would even make the bench? Milner has so much more to his game than Lennon and its people who rate Lennon higher are people with short memories and spurs tinted glasses who watched a few internationals matches where Milner played having played only a handful of games at citeh that season.

In 15 appearences for spurs he has scored 2 and got 3 assists.
Milner in 7 games has 2 goals
Nasri in 10 games has 1 goal 2 assists
Hazard 15 games 3 goals 5 assists
Ashley young 9 games 0 goals 2 assists
Walcott 12 games 4 goals 4 assists

Kind of shit, not what I wanted to prove! But in reality Milner, Hazard, Young and Nasri have been in teams who have been in super form at times so far and have walloped teams. We have yet to fully hit top form and when we do I'm confident Lennons assist tally will shoot up. But who else would we get? Commentators, pundits and fans are always bogging up Lennon and Bale, as they understand how vital their pace is. Watching Lennon play he is not just a push and run player, he contributes effectively to our short passing game, particularly last year. I'd rather we get. Top forward or a creative midfielder then try and upgrade on Lennon, and he is still only 25 which is when players really begin realising their potential barring the the elite players.

compare score points (goals/assists) vs his peers and he is severly lacking.

But I do agree that his pace scares the shit out of defenders, but once that goes, what else is there?

Firstly I would just like to confirm that you are a muppet.

secondly, only Hazard (first season in the EPL) and Lennon are starters for their clubs in the list. The rest spend a lot of the time on the bench.

Compare all their stats over a significant sample size (50 games+) and then be shocked. I would take every single one of the above players ahead of Lennon, and I would be very surprised that someone wouldnt, even someone with the intelligence of a Paul Merson turd like yourself.
