Last night I was watching a football prog on TV in Italy where I live and the panel were discussing who the next manager of Inter might be.

Various names like Mourinho were suggested and seriously discussed and then the host said, "Well...what about Arsene Wenger ? Do you think he'd be the right man for the job ?" The blokes on the panel just looked at each other for a mo as if to say " What ???" and then a couple of them started sniggering.

Discussion on AW's prospects didn't last long. Feeling was "Let's talk about serious candidates, shall we ?"

Just thought you'd like to know...

^^ maybe that's why they were laughing ... he'd never join the inter circus. the italians of all people would respect him as a manager because he pretty much owns all their big teams.

Why are we laughing? They were clearly laughing at the notion that Wenger would leave a club he's help build from the ground into one of Europe's superpowers for a circus of uncertainty at Inter.

His credentials as a top class coach cannot be doubted by even the most yiddish of yids.

By the sounds of it, I'm afraid tis you flatback4 who got the wrong end of the sniggering stick.

Wenger is repected all over Europe. I've seen him give interviews to German TV and speak to them fluently.

He has transformed a dreary club, and put them on the world stage where they are now admired.

What's to laugh at?

Mind you Italian footy TV is sooo funny, all they do is shout at each other. And they all know eff all because 80% of them are journalists, who have never played football in their life

German TV is pretty good. Lots of ex-pros (older ones) to do analysis at HT & FT but one commentator, so no jabbering, the match and on field takes precedence.

The presenters tend to be in depth and non-sensationalist and don't try to be comedians either. Respectful too.

I remember when we played a German team in the UEFA when GG was in charge, and our fans sang all the way through...then the Germans knocked us out in the final bloody minute! Eek

They were quite sympathetic and admiring of the fans.
