Hello again everybody.

The Occasion:
Pre-season friendly #3. The finale of our participation in the Super-Duper Big Club Cup. Hasn’t it been wonderful!?

Who:

Manchester City F.C. vs. Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Spurs vs City, that was the classic Cup Final where Ricky Villa scored that goal wasn’t it?:

Yes it was, thanks for the reminder. Let’s take a moment of remembrance…

When:
Saturday 29th July 2017
5pm Kick off local time. 11pm in the UK.

Where:

Nissan Stadium (Nashville, Tennessee, USA)
Capacity – 69,143

Why:

$$$$$$$$$$$$

Wow this sounds great! How can I watch it?:

UK – Premier Sports (Sky channel 428 – subscription needed)
US – ESPN2
Other options are possibly available……

When I think of Spurs vs. City, I always think of that Ricky Villa goal:
I thought someone might mention that, and I was ready for it. Here it is…

Squads:

Tottenham Hotspur

Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli, Brandon Austin (GK), Jaden Brown, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Ben Davies, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier, Jonathan Dinzeyi, Christian Eriksen, Anthony Georgiou, Vincent Janssen, Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris (GK, and Captain), Will Miller, George-Kevin Nkoudou, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Joshua Onomah, Kieran Trippier, Jan Vertonghen, Michel Vorm (GK), Kyle Walker-Peters, Victor Wanyama, Alfie Whiteman (GK), Kevin Wimmer, Harry Winks

Manager – Mauricio Pochettino

Who will be up against:

Man City:

<Insert their 500 strong squad of eye-wateringly expensive Oil Money sell outs here>
Special mention of course for Kyle ‘worse than Hitler’ Walker. He sounds familiar……?

Manager – Josep Guardiola

Match Officials:

Referee – Dolly Parton
Assisted by - Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson
4th Official – Miley Cyrus

Weather Forecast:

Sunny. 29c/84f. Humidity will max. out at 85%

What they’re all talking about:

Just how soon into the game will Kyle Walker down tools and walk off, gripped by the inescapable feeling of inferiority as he realises he isn’t even the best footballer named Kyle Walker anymore?

Wait! Spurs vs City, I remember that Cup Final… ‘And still Ricky Villa!!’:

I was sure someone would have mentioned that by now, but better late than never…

Still remember that cup final like it was yesterday, we just didn't perform in the 1st match but the replay was just magic. Course City back then were just another team and would still be without the oil money

ps what a tackle by Roberts to get the move going

This is the match that convinced me to be Spurs supporter. I was a neutral then but was rooting for Man City for the 1st half an hour of the 1st leg!!!

I suspect it will be a bit 'mix and match' again tonight, with more of a first team for the Juve match. Also wouldn't rule out cameo appearances for Dinzeyi et al in the second half, as reward for being on the tour.

Again though I'd really like to see Dembele/Wanyama paired with Winks/Onomah, one half each.

The supporters clubs here in the states are actually really awesome. I'm sure that's the big driving point in the turnouts the team has received during this tour (and previous ones). I was hoping to be able to make the match in New Jersey, but couldn't swing it due to a change in my job. Glad to see they've shown how good of fans we can be, despite most of us never seeing them play in person (myself included).

Season marker.

Win this, and fire a shot across the bow of the PL mega rich.

Lose, and it's WBA levels of mediocrity expected for the season ahead.

No pressure then lads....

Personally, I think we play better when no one is really taking us seriously. I still feel like this side has zero respect from the EPL; they don't realize we don't NEED to spend a shit-ton of money to upgrade our starting XI. We needed to improve our bench and when we do that (we will sign players), they will look at it as "we didn't improve" despite our biggest deficiency last year was the lack of production from our bench.

My bro says downtown Nashville has been overtaken by our fans.

He's just got a shirt signed by Dele for my lad.
Got his The Finale programme signed yesterday by Toby, Dier, Trippier, Dele, Eriksen, Davies and Walker-Peters.
