Welcome to the Spurs Vs Man City Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

I want to see us go 3 5 2. I may get pelters for this but given danjuma played LWB for Brugge I’d put him there.
lloris
Romero dier lenglet
Porro Benta biss skipp danjuma
Kane son

Man for man in midfield to stop them play. Have biss sit on de bruyne, to stop him and let the dribbling and pace of danjuma and Porro help us get out.
We have Richie, Kulu maybe Moura on the bench to change things but I think that team is very solid.

What i'd play:

Lloris
Romero -- Dier -- Davies
Porro ------- Skipp ------- Perisic
Bentancur ------ Bissouma
Kane ---- Son
Forster, Emerson, Sanchez, Lenglet, Sessegnon, PEH, Danjuma, Kulusevski, Richarlison

What Conte will play:

Lloris
Romero -- Dier -- Davies
Emerson -------------------- Perisic
Bentancur --- PEH
Kulusevski --------------- Son
Kane

With the news that Conte will be missing this game, I think the line up will be our tried & ‘trusted’.
Not expecting anything from this game anyways ??‍♀️

Conte learned nothing at the Emirates and set us up exactly the same at home, with a carbon copy outcome. If he (or whoever) doesn't recognise the need for us to match up their 3 in CM it will be the same again. We'll go with PEH and Bentancur though.

I don’t see a defeat as inevitable simply because Conte is not there. It’s a big game and I expect the boys will want to do him proud.

I also expect Conte to tell Stellini the team to go with and for it to be the tried and trusted (if not always successful!):

————————Lloris
———Romero—Dier—Davies
Emerson—Bentancur—Hojbjerg—Perisic
———Kulusevski—Kane—Son

Subs: Forster, Porro, Sessegnon, Sánchez, Lenglet, Bissouma, Skipp, Richarlison, Danjuma

Sorted the CB problem!!!!
:sneaky:
Lloris
Porro—Romero—Skipp—Perisic
Bentancur—Bissouma
Kulusevski—Kane - Son
Richarlison
Subs: Forster, Danjuma, Lenglet and academy players

...you're welcome...?

I'd play:

Lloris

Romero
Dier
Davies

Porro
Bentancur
Bissouma
Perisic

Kulusevski
Kane
Son

Looking at this team makes me both excited and left with a slight feeling of missed opportunity after the window. Just seeing Porro in the lineup makes it look so much more formidable to me but it would look even better with another rock solid defender in there and if you go a bit further (with views to the summer) a reliable GK and accomplished CM.

Still a bit unsure about Son and his goals at Preston will probably buy him more starts like the ones against Leicester possibly did. Needs to be consistency to his better performances now.

Relieved that we seem to have started turning a corner in defence. This is going to be a hell of a test but we've had some surprising results against them before.

I think Porro to start for me. Aside from that I think we go with what we expect. I don't think Bissouma will start if PEH is fit and for me I would rather Davies than Lenglet.
Personally I think we'll get beat but I am strangely optimistic for the next half of the season and think we are more then capable of going one a run that keeps both Chelsea and Liverpool away from the door and means we can put pressure on Utd and Newcastle.

Somehow forgot this was a home game. Must have deleted the away game a couple of weeks ago from my memory. Was thinking Emerson may have started if it was away. Now hoping Porro starts being at home.
