It's testament to us that they've gone so defensive at home, with two sitting midfielders in Fernando and Fernandinho...

Would've prefered Lamela with his tracking, workrate and vision. Son has those moments were he can't be arsed to close or track, but on the other hand much more of a goal threat so maybe it balances itself

Silva and Kompany back. Not too bothered. First game back from their injuries, I think that will be in Kompany's head.

COYFS
This is not Kompany's first game action back. He played a U21 game. I probably would have given him another U21 game or 2 to see how he holds up but they desperately need him back. Right when he passed fit, he was always gonna start.

City had no choice but to roll out the big guns here and quite what the fitness is of Kompany and Silva will be telling if we press like bastards.

No way can Kompany be fully fit and certainly will be lacking in Match fitness - think he had to go off in his last attempt at returning - but he will give them a huge lift in general having him back and on the pitch.

There is just no way Kompany can be up to speed...think Pellegrini has taken some big gambles today.

Could backfire on them despite the gasps at their team news.

No issues with team. Trippier was great last match, but Poch has been rotating FBs to keep them fresh. Walker will be fine. Thought Lamela would get the start for his ability to track back and help the FBs, but Son gives us a nice attacking option. Rest of the team was never a doubt.

He doesn't to the level of Lamela, no way
Yes he does, fouls less too, which will probably be big here.

Always knew we were getting that type of player when we got him from Leverkusen, who employ one of the craziest high presses you will ever see.

Lamela was MOM in the City fixture at the lane and was coming back into form last match. Son doesnt have any where near the pressing ability and has been consistently inconsistent all year. I dont like it.

Last game, Davies and Trippier were immense and Trippier won us the game. You have to reward that performance.
Sackable offence?

I imagine Poch saw how badly City coped with the directness of Leicester, ergo why he chose Son

COME ON YOU SPURS! Feels a lot like that Manchester City vs. Tottenham four years ago (2011-2012). You can do it!
