Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham

Five minutes Fergie time!
YELLOW CARD - Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham
Dembele
19:03 SUBSTITUTION - Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham
Another youngster on for Spurs, as Harry Kane replaces Roberto Soldado. No sign of Tim Sherwood shutting up shop.
18:58 SUBSTITUTION - Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham
It's all going on here. In the aftermath of that Manchester United goal Emmanuel Adebayor went down injured on halfway and has had to leave the pitch on a stretcher. Not sure what happened there but he's off and Nacer Chadli is on.
18:56 GOAL - Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham - Danny Welbeck
But Manchester United respond instantly! Javier Hernandez plays a clever pass through for Danny Welbeck who is in behind, and his finish is immaculate, clipping the ball over Hugo Lloris and into the net. Great game on our hands here...
18:54 GOAL - Man Utd 0-2 Tottenham - Christian Eriksen
What a clinical counter-attack! Manchester United have a cross cleared and all of a sudden it's three-on-three. Roberto Soldado spreads the ball out to Aaron Lennon on the right, his cross is deflected up into the air and Antonio Valencia - playing at right-back since the changes - takes an age to clear the ball, allowing Christian Eriksen to head past David De Gea
18:47 PENALTY APPEAL - Man Utd 0-1 Tottenham
The Stretford End holler for a penalty but referee Howard Webb is not interested! And Danny Welbeck appears to dive, going in between Danny Rose and Vlad Chiriches before going to ground. No penalty, but no booking either for diving!
HALF TIME - Man Utd 0-1 Tottenham
18:10 YELLOW CARD - Man Utd 0-1 Tottenham
A frustrated Wayne Rooney hauls back Mousa Dembele and is booked, moments after a revitalised Emmanuel Adebayor tracked him all the way to the corner flag to win the ball back for Tottenham. A tale of two number 10s there.
18:05 GOAL - Man Utd 0-1 Tottenham - Emmanuel Adebayor (34 mins)
I said he looks like a new man! Emmanuel Adebayor gives a cheeky salute to the Stretford End after heading Spurs into the lead.
It's a poor goal to concede though, Roberto Soldado releasing Christian Eriksen into space on the right, he is allowed the time and space to shift it on to his left foot and hang in a cross which Adebayor heads well into the bottom corner.
4-4-2 is the future...

Late kick off, thank god for that. Plenty of time to sleep off my hangover and travel home after NYE!

Realistically a point today would be awesome, anything more would be ridiculous.

That says 1-1 to me

Composed and expected first-half opener for Rooney, equaliser after a much improved second-half sending little Aaron into euphoria

Or something
Is Rooney fit? Edit: I mean as in able to play. No comedic responses please.

Even with all our injuries I'm optimistic we can get something up there today.
Start the New Year off as we mean to go on.

COYS!

Hope this is a good omen:

1st January, 1996

Tottenham Hotspur 4 Manchester United 1 (1st Division)

Scorers: Sheringham, Campbell, Armstrong (2)

Team: Walker, Austin, Edinburgh, Nethercott, Calderwood, Campbell, Caskey, Dumitrescu (McMahon), Armstrong, Sheringham, Rosenthal

This was probably one of the best results during Gerry Francis’ managerial reign. Teddy Sheringham scored the first and although United equalised, Sol Campbell scored before half-time and then two goals from Chris Armstrong sealed Spurs’ victory.

Need to keep Wellbeck quiet, not feeling threatened by any other element of that United squad.

Will be interesting to see our 'new look' side against one of the big boys, and away from home.

I'm expecting us to get screwed by the officials somehow, but I'd be very happy with a draw.

Oh and they're on a six-game winning streak - the last time United won six games in a row, they then lost to us at Old Trafford, last season, good omens :)

They've potentially got two very important injuries so why the heck not? I've got a sneaking suspicion that Rooney will play some part in the game though.

I remember that game. United had given a trial to a French defender (I think his name was Prunier) and he wasn't very good. Armstrong had a great game. Shame that he never really worked out.

Moussa loves Old Trafford and Lennon regularly tears up Evra. We can do it!
