Think 3-4-3 is what we need. I live bissouma but Hojberg and Bentancur work much better right now as a 2 and understand eachover on another level. Plus 3-4-3 is better for us defensively than 3-5-2 as the wide forwards fall back when defending to make it a 5-4-1.

I'd take Bissauma off for Sess and push Persic up top. He's a clever player and could do the intelligent Kulu role quite well
Perisic he’s been awful looks like he is towing the titanic so clumsy

Wonder what ManU's XG was. After all our defensive gameplan is based on limiting the opponent to worthless shots.

14 shots outside the box tells a lot.

Bentacur looks off it tonight, seems to be lacking confidence to receive the ball, he's normally very consistent with his passing

We play total football. As in total shit football.

If you remove the result from the equation, this has to one of the worst performances I've seen in several years. Apart from the result, I can't say one positive thing.

Up to a point. Teams don’t play this badly and consistently pick up points over a season IMO. I might be wrong, and it’s hard to argue with the results over his tenure, but on another day we’re out of sight in this game

We’re riding our luck. Against a better team we’re 2 down or more
I agree it's frustrating to watch us. We know we can play fast attacking football that entertains and gets results, because we've done it before and we have top players to do it. It surely is Conte's instruction not to play that way.

We need to push 20 yards higher. Just defending way too deep. This isn't a third round cup tie and we are the non league side. Fuck sakes.

We have had two or three decent counters but because we are so deep we aren't getting enough in the box.

I can understand the reluctance to push too high with Rashford there, but sometimes you need to be brave.

I wouldn’t mind so much the tactics either if we looked dangerous, but even in transition we’ve been really poor. Just want too much time on the ball.

Would love to provide some insightful comments on the 1st half but considering Amazon own a good chunk of the internet you would think they could provide a stable stream but can they fuck.
Not just me then. Always seems to happen just as there's a chance too.

your stream hasn't frozen, the game is actually just being played in and around our 18 yard box.

No the problem was our recruitment wasn't as good as people were led to believe. Also feels such negative football. The balance of the 3 is the problem. It's so odd when Conte has played Brozovic, Barella and Eriksen in the past.
Yes, but as many of kept saying when the cries for 3-5-2 were rampant, he hasn't been building a side to play 3-5-2, he's been building to primarily play 3-4-3. Two injuries to two key forwards has forced his hand. Otherwise we wouldn't be playing with an unbalanced 3 in midfield.

If we push 20 yards higher playing a back 3 then we'll get done by pace. What we need is for our midfield 3 to start controlling the ball, turn and run. It's too loose and too negative from all 3 of them today.

No real creativity and no pressure when they have the ball. Conte will earn his money sorting this out in 15 mins.

For the first 15 mins we started really well and then fell off a cliff! Why??
Don't know if it's tactical or just natural, but as soon as we come under a couple of minutes concerted pressure we drop 10 yards and stay there. The edge of our box is like a comfort blanket where we feel safe. Then the opposition start to get more time on the ball, and start to get their rhythm.

It's why games where we score early seem to have a completely different feel to them. We don't feel the pressure and start winning the ball higher up.
