Drop Friedel, Walker, Huddlestone and Gallas.

Dempsey questionable.

Start with Adebayor. In fact, Defoe + Ade looks pretty alright.

Maybe it's time to be more flexible and be more demanding too. Christ was that terrible from Gallas and Walker.

Friedel cost us the 3 points. Poor defending by Gallas and Walker. Livermore was a waste of a sub. Dempsey, good effort but just not good enough. Defoe brimming with confidence, Lennon doing well to actually shoot at goal, but not enough by the squad today. Missed Bale and Dembele. Could have been a different story, but we did get lucky with our goals. Hopefully next time we have Lloris in goal and Ade is given a run to pair up with Siggy/Dempsey. Siggy looks like he needs a few games to get into his groove. COYS

Wouldn't worst player of the match vote be more apt? Quite a few contenders there, but I guess Gallas edges it.

Has AVB noticed with all his bloody note taking that Sigurdsson, and in fact, everyone looks better when Ade is playing?

Now, Ade himself, was pretty shoddy today but that goes down to him barely playing.

Start him next time out, and Defoe, and drop Dempsey.

Wow, wow, wow, what? Gallas and Walker were primarily at fault for goals 2-4, and the first was a teriffic strike that Friedel saw late due to bodies in front of him and may have taken a ever so slight deflection off Caulker.

I voted Gallas.

Because he won the game.

Even his goal should not have stood, his poor excuse for a header was going wide until he handled it in.

One of, if not the worst central defensive performances i've ever seen, Benny cannot come back soon enough.

We had a real opportunity against a poor Chelsea defence, but lots of the players looked sluggish, first half, and even with our gifts to them we still could/should have got something out of the game but for bad finishing.

Friedel - 5: Lloris needed for me.

Walker - 5. I thought he was caught out positionally throughout the game, but we only noticed just on the retarded 4th goal.
Gallas - 3: when you score and get a three from me you have to cost us the game. And he did.
Caulker - 6: solid enough, would like to see him with Vert or Kaboul.
Vertonghen - 6.5: should have gotten back a little better on the 2nd goal.

Sandro - 7: good.
Huddlestone - 6: Not his fault that he was going up against such a skilled, pacy midfield.

Lennon - 7.5 Sublime.
Dempsey - 5: Does he actually offer... anything?
Sigurdsson - 6: I could write a 20 pg long post on this kid. Shows flashes, works his ass off, gets in good positions... He has at least 5 "unlucky" or "ooh, this close" moments a game. My god.

Defoe - 7. Nicely done mate.

Lennon was great today. MoTM for me.

Friedel - 5.
Gallas - ....
Caulker - 6
Walker - ....
Verts - 7

Sandro - 7
THudd - 7
Lennon - 8
Siggy - 6 (just wish he could find confidence and form, he is a great player).
Dempsey - 6
Defoe - 8.

Defoes work rate was really good today. Just wish he could pass (Dempsey would have scored that one, I reckon).

but despite several great moments from sigurdsson why do i still feel underwhelmed and let down at the end? i'd rather drop him, at least with dempsey i don't feel shortchanged.

I thought Lennon had his best performance in a while, but he still lacks the know how when coming inside as to what to do.

Defoe tried hard, and did offer something drifting out wide left.

I must admit i missed the first 25 mins but i thought we didn't look too bad. What really hurt us was the lack of ball retention, especially from the defence. We gave it away so much and we will get punished by the better teams, like today. All is not lost though as i thought we looked quite good in patches and Arsenal also lost at home to chelsea and they are our closest rivals.
