If signing Doherty is genuinely close then I'd like to think us selling Serge is also close.

I agree it will be gedson/tanganga as back up. Let's just hope he stays fit.

I’m sure the Spurs injury curse will strike him down . Probably trip on a carpet entering the training ground.

No problem if we make this signing. I said we should go for him weeks ago. Seems to me that we don’t have a permanent RB in place at this time and this is a temporary measure. Aurier is a liability, comparing the twos stats is pointless. Wolves ball retention is/was much better than ours so tackles were not as necessary although I hear the comments about his defending not being as good as his attacking play.

Think he’d be a good acquisition ... getting the right players for the right positions appears to be Maureens plan - pragmatism; then add on further players in time as we progress... maybe levy’s ‘accountancy’ approach is a good focus on José’s strengths as coach. ..

I don't accept buying a RB at the peak age of 28 is a temporary measure.

Temporary in that he's unlikely to give us more than 3 good seasons. I think most would think a long term option would be a player in the 22-25 bracket that's showing signs of being a top tier player.
