The friendly between Netherlands and Italy today was played in Juve's stadium I believe they could have met or he could just completely be making it up. Regardless Juve has a ton of CB's and I can't imagine they would need to add another. Chiellini is still great, they have Benatia, Barzagli is still playing, then they have two highly rated youngsters in Rugani and Caldara coming back on loan. That's a very crowded CB group.

That's a very old CB group that needs refreshing.

Rugani is 23 and Caldara is 24, like I mentioned they already have their future CB's. Benatia and Chiellini aren't going anywhere so I'd struggle to find time in that position. Not to mention they're likely bringing in Howedes permanently as well.

Howedes isn't young.

What you've said is correct but I don't think it's unrealistic that they'd be interested in the player. It's an opportunity to seriously consider.

If they actually go for De ligt and spend 50-65million (which I doubt they will)then surely this leaves us as the only option for Martial.

Reports in Italy saying Juve have been priced out, unsurprisingly. The interesting part is that they say it's because we bid €55m.

Not sure TuttoMercato are particularly reliable though (who is).

Quite a poor source, but Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that we've bid €55m for De Ligt (would take €60m), with other clubs (Juve) struggling to meet that price

I think they might be a bit like Newsnow.

You’d think Sanchez must be pinging him a few texts especially after he’s been rewarded with a new contract this summer. That will show de ligt what happens when you join us and perform well.

Not to mention the whole string of Ajax alumni that have done so well with us (Vertonghen, Eriksen, Alderweireld, Sanchez), solid career move really.

Lots of salt, but IF we are only 5m away in valuation then that would put us in the final stages of bargaining, so would expect to be more widely reported pretty soon. Ajax will want media attention to at least attempt to draw a City bid and start a war.

ITK says he's very much on the radar. Davinson chose us over Barcelona for his development and first team opportunities. Another Ajax lad may decide that's the right move for him, too. We should all be pretty well-disposed to ex-Ajax defenders by now.

de Ligt only has to look at 3 ex-Ajax defenders who have done really well at Spurs, to see it's a great and exciting place to develop

And the Premier League is boss; players are definitely attracted to it!!

At the bare minimum the Italian media in Turin are doing their best to lure him their way. This is from an interview he did apparently today a couple days after the Italy/Netherlands friendly at Juventus. (Interview was written up in Italian so I have let google translate take a stab. Sorry if the translation is wonky. I fixed a couple of words I knew)

http://www.goal.com/it/amp/notizie/...-una-grande-storia/1v9ih24fdj9uq12bc6ceubz8cl

Many great clubs follow her, including Juventus. What do you know about the Juventus club? Have you been contacted? " Honestly, I have not talked to anyone. I'm an Ajax player and currently I'm focused on the National team. Of course, it's an honor to be associated with some great clubs, but I do not really care. I just have to keep playing well with Ajax and thinking about doing my best in the national team ".

The Juventus fans, in view of next season, would like to see her again in Turin. How was your first time in this city and what do you think of the Stadium? " I think it's a really beautiful stadium, just as the city is very beautiful ".

What do you think of Juventus? " It's a club with a great history, lots of titles and great players ".

What do you wish for your future? " I hope I can grow as much as possible. That's why I think it's very important to play every week at high levels ".

His agent, Mino Raiola, is very close to Juventus. Have you talked about a possible future with the bianconera jacket? " He is not a Juventus executive, he is a agent. If a club asks him for information, he tells me. At the moment there is nothing really serious ".

Who would choose between Juventus, Barcelona, Tottenham and Manchester United? " It's hard to answer, they're all great teams. My dream has always been to play in Ajax, now I play with it. We must think about it, understand well what the best step to take can be. I do not have a favorite club ".

Do you feel ready for a new experience even though you are still 18? " Maybe yes, I do not know. I like playing high-level games. Ajax is a great team, the season is over, now I'm on vacation and I can think about my future ".

Did you see the penalty whistled in the Real Madrid-Juventus final? What do you think of Oliver's decision? " Yes, I saw it. It is not my job to say whether the referee has made a mistake or not: he has made a decision and has the right to do so. Because this is his job ".

No clue. Maybe Juve is lowkey the Liverpool of Italy and they never let things go? Such a weird question but no more weird than some of the ones asked for Poch's take on certain Madrid related items at his presser last week.

I think he handled that very well, pretty obviously nothing in the Juve line is what I'd take from that.
