Am sure i read somewhere he is available from Man City this window. Can't believe we wouldn't be in for him if he was.....imo would be a great signing.

Thoughts before this gets locked for having no link?!

good player but his another general midfielder like Jenas and if we are to go 4-4-2 with Modric in the centre Johnson is not the player needed to partner Luka

We need a younger davids or vieira

Agree with bubble really. If we're going to play Modric in a flat midfield we need a specialist rather than another 'allrounder' like JJ.

I would rather break the bank for Stephen Ireland. He is an awesome player.

Break the bank? City wouldn't sell Ireland for less than £30m, even then I'd be sceptical.

it'd collapse the whole banking system....again ;-)

Ha. Yeah, poor choice of words for the times we are in! Still, I think Ireland could be playing for any club in the premier league he is that good.

Fuckin' nut job though.

He is good player and i would take him instead of Appiah or selling Ghaly/Baoteng, Mark Hughes would be stupid if we allowed him to leave. He could make the difference for his poor side when Michael become fully fit %100.

Agree, he has been oustanding and esily City's most consistent and best player. Hughes has said this on a number of occasions. So it stands to reason for the club that doesn't need money, theywouldn't even entertain bids of Robinho proportions for him, unfortunately :)

I would prefer Johnson over Ireland and I think he is definitely a star in the making.
I don't believe City would let him go but if he is made available there will be a hell of a lot of clubs interested.

I live in manchester and have the unfortunate problem of knowing City fans and i can tell you why City are trying to offload him.

1 - He has serious injury problems (think its his hips)
2- He is a complete and utter piss-artist

I also agree with the comment about Stephen Ireland, for some reason he has turned into magician this year - he is probably as good if not technically better than the Brasillians at City.

I also live in Manchester and can confirm that Johnson has fallen so far down the list at City because he is a total piss head - will probably be playing non league football in a few years at this rate.

Recovering from injury isn't that easy when your wankered and climbing up larking around on lamp posts.

I don't live in Manchester, but my brother-in-law and nephews do; all are ST holders at the Taxpayers' Gift to Manchester City Stadium, and through them I can confirm FW's and GB's info that Johnson enjoys a night out on the lash altogether too much. It's pretty commom knowledge amongst City fans.

Ireland's improvement is all down to the losing the wig. He's now free to express himself without suddenly going bald in public.

I rememebr when he 'burst' onto the scene, he was one of the only shining lights in City's team. But i've also heard he is an utter piss head, and cant seem to recover from an injury.

Also agree with people have been saying about Ireland, he's a right weirdo but a class act aswell.
