I'm not sure if Pedersen would consider Spurs a big enough step up to leave Blackburn. Blackburn can conceivably challenge for top six and get into the UEFA so why should he leave for us?

True but potentially Spurs have a better chance than Blackburn to make a CL spot.

The transfer speculation suggest Liverpool are interested in Pedersen and if so we don't have a chance.

Oh come on, surely we are a big step up from blackburn. Everybody knows that next year we will seriously challenge for, and possibly get, CL. I sound optimistic, I know, but we are a good team now.

If Blackburn are losing McCarthy to Chelsea (or similar CL club), d'ya reckon they might take Mido in p/x for MGP?

Two problems solved at once! If only Tugay were younger maybe we could offload Ghaly as well  .

Sparky was certainly interested in Mido last summer. Whether he'd be so keen now is a moot point, though. Of course, given the crosses from MGP and Bentley he'd probably thrive. Oh no! We'd have MGP!

Tugay will shortly be eligible for free false teeth and a free bus pass, but is still one of the best playmakers around. 2 or 3 years younger I'd have him like a shot. He'd be a fantastic player for the Hudd to learn from.

EDIT: Amazing prescience, BOF!

UPDATE 45:

Date: 22/05/2007
Time: 9:18
Site: COYS
Who: defoe

Just heard from a mate at Blackburn that we have lodged a £9m bid for Pedersen, with Mido going in the opposite direction.

Hopefully it comes off, perfect addition to our squad.

He would be a good addition to the squad. Can add a few goals from midfield and can contribute greatly to set pieces directly or to the team. His work rate is good and though he might be priced more than his value but i dont think we can be too picky concerning the LW/LM position coz getting a person with a good left foot is a hard business nowadays.

No I don't want him! hell no.. He has `gamst` on his shirt because there's a lot of pederesen's, but only one gamst. And even tough he sometimes have a good game, 4 out of 5 is shit, and he's maybe good in 10 seconds every game, shi*e and anonym the most of every game, don't even get to malbranques knees(even when he play left).

Yeah think both SS57 and Joey said that he does run around alot.

But it just seems that whenever I watch Blackburn he's either scoring wonder goals or doing nothing. Does anyone have any stats for crossing/assists etc for him? Would be interesting to see.

last two seasons he has been in the top 5 midfielders on fantasy manager at premierleague.com.. points are given from assists and goals, so his record cant be too bad..
