At least if they have general fans as pundits you can have one representing each team and it's all a bit of fun.

Until after about 30 seconds it just descends into a competition to see who can shout the loudest over the other.

Most pundits are crap and have little insight to offer, but I'd be even less interested to hear what Dave out of the pub has to say.

I don't mean randoms lol.
I mean purposely appointed fans to give their opinions. Not a wally off the street.

Just not any ex pro talking about a match not even involving their old teams.

To be fair to Match of the Day and the BBC Football coverage in general, they are trying to change it up and bit, and you can clearly see they're attempting to find a few star pundits of the future, bringing in the likes of Shearer (who I quite like), Kilbane (alright), Hartson (absolutely God fucking awful and hates us with an obvious passion) and Savage (whoever made that decision should burn in hell for all eternity).

Lawro can't be long for this world and Hansen has finally admitted that he's been saying exactly the same words in exactly the same order week after week after week for decades now, and can't bring himself to keep saying them whilst talking over a clip a MotD researcher has put together which he hasn't even bothered watching. So that's good.

It's a shame the utterly dire and unprofessional, openly-biased and diving-encouraging Owen has somehow managed to get himself a job. I don't mind Souness too much, or Glenn obviously, and Neville is generally excellent. Redknapp has run out of Spurs players to sell to Madrid or United this season so he's slightly more tolerable at the moment.

I stay away from Sky Soccer Saturday and other Sky football stuff generally as I have no interest in the opinions of the likes of Thompson, Le Tiss or Marsh, not least since their entire panel seems to be made up of ex-players who specifically hate Spurs.

Lol are you 6? Cos that makes you sound like you are and is exactly the precious, deluded attitude I've alluded to earlier in this thread

My, you really are acting the internet warrior on this thread.

Is it really necessary?

There are way too many former Liverpool players earning an excellent living as pundits, and they range in insight from ho hum to banal (Owen).

Souness is the best ex-Liverpool pundit, but only because there's a constant edge of wondering whether he's going to pick a scrap with a fellow pundit whose opinion he doesn't respect.

As for Mourinho's original comments, this was pure Magic Trick designed to distract attention away from the fact that two of his players should have been sent off - Eto'o and Oscar - and Suarez had a blatant penalty turned down.

Mourinho has always spoken with forked tongue, but it's pure parody now.

The Special One seems very relaxed telling fib after fib after fib. Imagine if Drogba was still his centre forward, diving around & feigning injury as if he'd been shot several times a game..

Speaking of being childish, I can only see one person in this thread throwing insults around.

No more necessary than the persecution complex exhibited by many on here

No more necessary.........yet still you do it? Hmmm.

As I said before, the vast majority on here have merely been pointing out that the preponderance of former Liverpool pundits simply makes for bad television.

No sensible person would disagree with that, let alone try to get into internet fights about it.

I dont particularly like Rodgers but this incessant condescending ego trip mourinho is on to appear older and wiser is really annoying me. He said something along the lines of "10 years ago I would have thought like that". When it has nothing to do with it and more to do with using your age to suit your agenda. Mourinho is a fucking nasty cretin in need of a good beating.

There are a lot, but I don't find opinion to be disproportionate. On The whole, Neville is very critical of this current United side and Carragher has been pretty good as well. Souness and Hoddle always talk well of us. Crooks is an ex Spurs man, Ferdinand is on Euro games, Keane speaks highly of us, Shearer whilst boring is quite impartial. I don't really see many obvious anti-spurs stuff going on other than the delight Redknapp takes in us failing, which I would expect and certainly not blame him for. Wouldn't you if your dad had been sacked?

Let me get this straight...........you're trying to accuse me of being an internet warrior because I question your behaviour on this thread?

Arf!

The bias doesn't really bother me that much really. It's not as if Spurs haven't been well represented in the media. Lineker is the lead presenter on MotD, Garth Crooks...Hoddle...even Barry Davies admitted to being a Spurs fan after he retired (hence the sheer joy in his voice when Gazza scored THAT free kick).

The Liverpool thing just makes me laugh. I started watching football in 1990 just as Liverpool's success was coming to an end, so the numerous pundits banging on about this 'great club' called Liverpool just goes over my head. Like a bunch of dinosaurs pretending that the ice age never happened.

to be honest pundits always tended to be international players and successful players from top teams so why on earth would Chelsea have any, pretty much all of their successful players are still playing, people forget they were shite.

Contra this, I give you Danny Murphy & Robbie Savage, whose ability to talk endless shite is far superior to their playing ability.

Again, the core point is that Mourinho was deliberately distracting attention away from three shocking decisions by that tool Howard Webb.

I'm sure some reasoned, rational fans could be found, but then just think about what Sky used to do with fans commentating. A pair of cringeworthy idiots screaming and shouting at each other.
