Weird game. Where the fuck did that Sissoko performance come from?! He was a one man wrecking ball.

Shearer and Carragher appear to have summed up my feelings precisely, although obviously still gutted we didn't take advantage of bragging rights.

Hey ho, on to next year.

It has to be said.

What on Earth has happened to Hugo Lloris?

Fair enough, he pulls out a few worldies, but then so does every goalkeeper.

He has completely lost his ability at getting the basics right. He has let in a ridiculous amount of soft goals recently. Off the top of my head i can count at least 5 since the WBA game.

And his distribution, jesus christ.

Just to add as a disclaimer, i absolutely love Hugo, have done since he was at Lyon. I cannot stand Michel Vorm. This is in no way a witch hunt, just an observation.

I'm just about to do a fuckoff heap of work so goodnight all, shame about the latest stitch up but we'll get over it, there are bigger things in life, like my chopper. Ask your mums.

Anyway, COYS! Keep the faith, onwards and upwards, CL next season and there's always cake.

Caaaaaaake :woot:

Rose? This the player who on the eve of the City was more concerned about finishing 4th than challenging for the title despite being only 2 points of the top. If anything his mentality demonstrates everything wrong about the club at this time.

Because he asked Lamela if he thinks we will get into the top 4?

Agreed. He's given us three outstanding seasons, but this year he's been average (by his standards).

The goal away at Arsenal, at home to Arsenal, today (and in the reverse fixture), last week...

He's had a poor year. Don't want to give him too much flack - he's been our best player for years and he stayed when he easily could've jumped ship and we all would have understood - but maybe signing a stronger back up keeper than Vorm will keep him on his toes.

Hopefully it's just a one off.

Yeah, but knowing Spurs we'd probably drop it into a big pile of dog shit just as we're getting it out of the car.

Because he asked Lamela if he thinks we will get into the top 4?

Because he asked it in late February when the team was in 2nd 2 points off the top. Because it shows the height of his ambitions, because it shows he was looking backwards and not forwards. It's a mindset that runs through the whole club and which is reflected fully in one of its longest servants. The focus is always on qualification, not on silverware despite The club being in a perfect position to achieve that .

Is there any team in the whole wide world that finishes below their rivals for 20 seasons in a row?

Only one I can think of is Espanyol

I'm not saying that Vertonghen was good. As I said in a previous post, all four defenders were poor as a unit. It was very disjointed.

I wonder if Vertonghen may be one of the players who could leave this summer. We had that report linking us to Umtiti that really only made sense if we moved Wimmer or Vertonghen.

Looking back at this game and the last few games I think it is pretty obvious to see what has happened.

1. After we threw the 3 points away against Chelsea the players literally gave up, the title was gone and I think they have thought to themselves "Well we have champions league now so we have done our job" (not all players but certainly some and I think I have a good idea who as well) which brings me to my next point.

2. Saving themselves for the Euro's, with the title gone I imagine quite a few players in our side have one eye in the Euro's, I actually believe that some of them self sabotaged in order to get a rest ahead of it, I won't give you any names but I think you can figure it out.

3.We are mentally weak still, this much is evident, Poch knows it, we have some players in this side that never truly believed we could win the league and are looking behind us rather than forwards, this is a mentality that needs removing from this club because it's a black cloud constantly hanging over us.

On an unrelated note, we need some pretty big changes in the summer quite frankly, our squad depth is poor in terms of quality and the attitude shown by fringe players simply isn't good enough either, we need quality backup for Dembele as he is injury prone anyway and already out for the first four games as it is, we also need another top quality striker that we can maybe play alongside Harry or use to give him some rest because if Harry gets injured we are screwed.

We also need more attacking threat from wide positions and anothrr creative mid to challenge Eriksen for his spot.

And frankly we need all this done before we kick a ball next season, no more fucking about with transfers and deadline days, no long trips away before the first game of the season, we need to hit the ground running and not look back, a killer ruthless mentality.

Weeks ago I was feeling positive that would be the case but now I am not so sure, especially considering other teams will be vastly improved and going by history we are never fully prepared for the first game of the season and I see that being the case again.

Prove me wrong spurs, prove me wrong.

See my response to your subsequent post. I didn't realise you were on a roll of inane comments.
