well you do need to have a squad, and apart from Dawson and Naughton, I believe all the other players you want to leave the club are useful squad players. Our problem is that they are getting too much paying time when they are just decent stand-ins.
What a load of bollocks. All players in the squad should be good enough to play.

ah come on business first seriously? take the goggles off.. they left cos this club is going no where.. they done their time and fucked off to play for proper top club who has / had chance of winning things not just talk about it every week

I was actually talking about the club not the players.

The only player that would bother me by leaving is Lloris I'm afraid

I think Vertonghen is over rated, bit of a prima donna to me who when up against it starts shaking his head.

In fact I think we over rate a lot of our players on here.

The truly class players we have had over the last few years are Berbatov, Modric, King, Bale, VdV that's it.

What do all these players have in common apart from the King?

Business first, football second I'm afraid.

I think we may well be finished as a club in all honestly we are just going backwards and the days under Harry was and is as good as it will ever get.
I feel Levy has fucked this club and if he made decisions like that in any other major business he would have been sacked for causing such mayhem and taking the club/business backwards.
I know Levy has a lot of support on here but I've lost it with him and can't wait to see the back of the man.

because it is clear that basic passing and moving is not being taught on the training pitch, so it is not becoming second nature.
Quite possibly the case. But it could also just be that we have a few footballers who are just limited quality-wise and don't have it in them and this hinders the flow of our game and frustrates the ones who have true ability.

You gotta put together a certain type of player for it...look what fish face has done at lolerpool, that is all by design and he picked players carefully who could play the way he wanted.

This is why bringing a manager in with a cast-iron - dynamic - philosophy of how to play is important.

He'll be able to strengthen even more in the summer and even hang onto suarez, they'll be a title threat for sure next season and have a good style of play to do well in the CL.

And to think we still have until May to put up with these disinterested players and a manager so far out of his depth it's utterly laughable. This was never going to end well. Cheap option Tim was in the right place at the right time, but is clearly the wrong person. When your captain has completely lost his ability, how can he inspire others. When your first choice left back doesn't know how to play left back. When you've spent nearly £60m on a striker who cannot finish and another player who has had no impact whatsover. When you stubbornly keep picking a 19 yr old who has alot promise, but should not be starting every game. When our best creative player, Eriksen, is being totally ignored.
When that team was announced, especially our infamous back four and no Eriksen, who was surprised by the result.
There are plenty of games left and there's a tiny part of me thinks maybe, just maybe.
But then you remember who's in charge and some of our inept players and you know it's over.

1. Eriksen was tailor-made for this game, obvious to everyone.
2. Bentaleb needs a rest.
3. No shape or leadership in the middle of the pitch.

I don't think we lacked effort today,

I think we lacked footballers, Norwich invited us on and we created nothing.

We just have power and runners

no guile, no intelligence no lockpickers.

Which just adds to my confusion why we can't find a place for Eriksen in the team.

Agree with this but is eriksen top notch no he ain't I'm afraid.

I haven't watched all the games this season, but today looked one of the poorest. But credit must go to Norwich as well. They did their homework and Hughton was smart: he knew if Norwich played as the away team, we would struggle, and that's what happened.

Bentaleb needs a rest, and today he was just as poor as he was in Ukraine, but thankfully for him, dembele has 5 yellows so he will no doubt keep his place.

I thought Ade was really poor until Soldado came on. Prior to that, every ball into him bounced off his shin 5 yards, but when Robbie came on, we squeezed up in the final third and started playing some neat flicks, and we really should have equalised - not that we deserved too tho.

Sherwood needs to remember that when he started he went 4-4-2 against the weaker teams and it paid dividends, but today's starting selection was far too negative, and he reacted far too late.

Redknapp delivered what was expected, and achieved two top four finishes during his short spell with us. All without a one hundred million investment on players. I accept that Bale contributed a huge amount under Redknapp.

One hundred million spent, should give you an improvement in performance, goals and a likely top four spot. Can anyone tell me where that investment has worked?

I think the man who sacked our most successful PL manager, oversaw a one hundred million pound buying frenzy, sacked a new manager and then handed the reins over to a rookie needs to tell us all why the Club he Chairs is in a lot worst state then it was when Zaha and Neilsen were our key January signings two season ago.

We can all look under any amount rocks, and point fingers in all directions for excuses but truth is, that the one causing all this pain actually is the one leading the Club. He won't go, resign or be fired, so expect more of the same. The promised land is so far away now that to mirror a Newcastle, Everton, or Southampton is likely to be our on-going success story while Levy remains cock of the roost.

I agree Gaz, That Harry did get us Champions league football, Though he had Bale, Modric and later Vdv. Money was not spared either during his tenure. Those 3 are worlds apart from what we have now. I also acknowledge that Harry did a good job, Though it was mere luck than Judgement that he found himself at Spurs and he took over a very talented squad that were in a crisis, That was one appointment that he got right at the right time, Yet that was unbeknown to him, All he saw in Harry was someone who could get us out of the shit and not someone who would lead us to the CL.

Imo, Levy is the one driving the club down, Uneducated in football, Instability, Inability to keep hold of good players, The list goes on. You only have to look at the teams above us to determine why we we are failing, Even Chelsea and Roman seem to leave the footballing decisions to those that know best lately. We are a joke of a club and are run like a bloody circus. It is time the ring master left well alone.

It's only just dawned on me that we lost to Norwich.

Norwich.

Norwich.

The frightening stat is that we drew at home against them last season when a win would have put us in the CL qualifiers instead of Sporting Woolwich.

Utter bollocks.

They didn't go to worse teams for more money, they went to better teams with a much higher chance of winning stuff, with the exception of VdV who left for family reasons, not financial.

Since when did playing for us equate to an unparalleled height of footballing ambition?

We don't even know if King would've stayed if a big club came in for him in a serious way , as his injuries prevented that from becoming an issue.

Playing with Paulihno is like playing with 10 men, he's just not interested in defending. Similar with Eriksen, perhaps that's why he's not playing both as we would be too weak
