I’d have liked us to get him but I think we’re right not to make a guy without 1 minute if top flight football our 5th biggest transfer fee of all time.

Bellingham cost £3m less and he’s being touted as potentially the best midfielder on earth one day.

How's about we hire the Brentford scout who found Bennie and Ollie..be bloody cheaper short and long term.

Would have been a nice signing for the right price...ah well.

I think we’re all expecting the 25yr old to be Diallo.
Eduaord is 22 so perhaps not the second striker unless the ITK was loose on the 21 yr old.
If 21 was actually accurate, then Daka was indeed a name doing the rounds on social media yesterday, and today I’ve seen Leao mentioned a couple of times now. Daka and Leao can also play wider out and could be the seen as replacements for Lamela also if we could cash in.

Wouldn't surprise me the one we are after is one out of Eduaord, Leao or Daka. Believe all are 6ft plus and look to be able to do a decent job making the the ball stick up front (Eduaord probably better than the other two in that respect).

I think having the ability to play out wide is probably going to appeal to the club and with that mind you'd think one of Daka or Leao would make more sense but Eduaord has a lot of attributes Mourinho likes in a striker so difficult to rule it out if the financials work out. Offers a physical presence up top and very handy on the ground to.

Shame as this guy ticks a lot of boxes but to be fair £33m for a player who’s not played a min in the prem is a bit much.

£35m would’ve gotten you a Sergio Aguero 9 years ago. Today you get an unproven Championship striker with barely any change. Insane.

It's certainly £10m too much. In every way, he would be a massive risk of a signing for us.

He's an even bigger risk signing for Villa. They survived relegation last season by the skin of their teeth, mainly because they can't score goals, and they go and sign a striker who has never played in the PL for 33 million... it's bonkers. It's like they don't learn.

I personally think he will score around 17 goals next season - think he will do well. It is a risk though at that price but Villa were desperate for a striker and Brentford knew that

Joelinton cost 40M and didn't play a minute in the prem.
Good luck to the Villa they've decided on a player and put the money down.
If we'd of paid Villa the 25M for Grealish instead of messing about thing could of been different.

We're certainly attracting a new type of fan in recent years to be honest, they were usually reserved for the likes of Arsenal and United, I frankly can't stand them.
Malen would tie in with the idea of going slightly 'Orange' on our targets this year.

Exactly. As Spurs fans, I don't get the people that mock other clubs for taking a calculated risk. I WISH we did the same a little more often.
I remember similar people laughing at Liverpool for breaking the transfer record for both a defender and then a GK in the same window.

Completely agree on Grealish and its one of many examples where we have missed a great opportunity to improve the team. All for a few mil here and there.
Whats even more annoying is Levy is even seen saying in the amazon doco "in today's market 20mil is not a lot of money"
Funny that Mr Levy because it seems that 1 pound is a lot of money when we are trying to get a deal over the line!!

I’m certainly not mocking Villa as they’ve now spent three going rate to get a first team striker for a premier league side. However for is he would not be our first choice striker so while he’s worth £28m to Villa, he is not to us.

If Watkins wanted us he should stick to his guns. We have European football, cup and Champs league potential...where is his ambition? Southampton had higher offers for Hojbjorg but he wanted us. Over to you Ollie:unsure:

Hope it’s him, or Ronyell Malen, both have stand out seasons and going to be great players.

Other players could be Myron Boadu, Alexander Sorloth, Luka Jovic, Patrik Schick, Moussa Dembele, Darwin Nunez
Malen could be a good shout. We picked up Bergwijn from PSV in January so maybe Malen was discussed at that time and we asked to be kept abreast of development regarding Malen.

This all assumes that we did more than just enquire for him I guess.

If he and Grealish click, Villa stay up and he looks good before the Euro call ups.
