I can see Onomah coming in more as the season progresses. I don't think any of us are confident of signing another attacking midfielder anywhere across the front three this January so Josh has a chance to get there in some games. He's one to watch the next couple of seasons whether he goes out on loan or pushes into the squad.

Not one of them picked Harry Kane. How wrong they will be proved to be...

*slowly shakes head disapprovingly*
Likely neither would any of us back then.

For those who have seen the lad and Winks play: which one, iyo, is the brighter talent at this time (conscious of the Kane latter improvement)?

imo onomah is more talented but winks' game is more complete currently so would be better suited to the rigours of pl football - the extra year he has on onomah is probably why. it seems that onomah is ahead of winks in poch's mind though.

Winks is more of a complete player at this time I think, but I'd say Onomah's ceiling is far higher.

Winks was 19th man yesterday (I think). I don't think it is as clear cut, both are getting in the squads.

with mason injured and bentaleb away im surprised winks hasnt been on the bench.

Onomah appears to be in contention for Eriksen's role.

Expect to see both in and around the bench for Fiorentina.

For those who have seen him, can you describe what he plays like?

http://windycoys.com/
Chris (Windy) did a decent write up (and links to vuds) recently of Josh Onomah who can play as either CM or CAM, personally think he will end up as a CM. Probably six foot tall, looks almost languid in his play.

Harry Winks can play in the same side as Onomah, but usually then plays as a CM, covers lots of ground, greatr energy, tackling interceptions and rackling. He has played as CAM as well but usually as CM. A year older than Onomah

onomah will be a cm but he's not robust or defensively aware enough to play that role yet for the first team, so he'll only get game time further forward. he's always looking to drop back to get on the ball and then either moving it forward through passing or dribbling. he's 6ft+ but he's so nimble and agile, not your typical straight line runner some might tag him as. i think he'll probably move into the 1st team picture over the next year or so whereas winks will go out and get game time on loan.

Its often safer to play youngsters in the advanced positions - if they do make mistakes they will not be as bad as making mistakes in a defensive position

Also opposing teams will not set their tactics to exploit your naivety.

Would like to see him get at least 30 minutes playing time today; which would also mean that we'll win it easily.
