So, a serious question, why exactly can't we put games like this to bed? It's a consistent failing now. Are we not pushing enough players forward? Are we struggling with the final ball? Does the problem lie with Defoe or the supporting triumvirate (Bale/Lennon/Dempsey (or Sigurdsson)?

If true then frankly AVB should get rid of those players. If we want to succeed as a club then we need players who want to win trophies and not just want to play in the big games. One season in the CL doesn't give us the right to turn our noses up at a trophy that should be winnable.
