I'm hoping that perhaps after Jeans and Bentley DL has decided to relax the fee demands on peripheral players and we are simply upgrading. We can pay for Paul without robbing Peter. We can quite reasonably sell Parker, Livermore and Hudd plus save on wages, knowing that worst case scenario we could play 442 or 451 with one of Sandro, Demb, Paul as the most DM. We will still have Bale, Lennon, Holtby, Sig, Dempsey, Carroll, Townsend as attacking/creative midfielders and can hopefully upgrade there too. Would happily sell Sig and Dempsey after last season but I'll leave that up to AVB with over 2 months of the window still to go

I think we should keep Parker as a Sandro back up. Unless of course we sign someone else.

I see the frenzy has begun. We usually have one of these per window. Arshavin, Torres, Moutinho, Leandro.

I'm not getting moist until the OS tells me to.

Thought you were permanently moist? Agree we should be grounded as we've been burned before but boy, what a potential signing. Ok, now I'm moist, damn.

Real signing if intent if this happens. The thought of the beast along side Paulinho is mouth watering.

Dembele can be a creative passer now that he has support.

I'm far from convinced by Dembele's creativity, he has his moments but they are rare, he also seems a bit weak on his decision making. Maybe having an extra player giving him outlet options as well as a fully fit Sandro back will reduce that, but for me he is far better with what he offers defensively rather than creatively. Those three would be fine in the tougher games when we need to fight for possession and look to make quick counters, but in most games and particularly against the teams that want to defend deep and pull players behind the ball we are going to need more creativity, so hope we are also looking for a player who can provide that

I would imagine big Phil is probably pretty keen on this happening too, having two seemingly preferred mids playing together for a full season ahead of the WC would be a big boost for him and Brazil too.

will have to wait and see on this one, i'd've preferred a more creative player for the 3rd midfield spot - someone like eriksen who also would've cost a lot less.

The best part is we won't be absolutely up shit's creek without a paddle if/when Dembele has to miss a game.
If the compilation I saw is any indication of his true ability, I have to say that although I am totally sold on Sandro, this guy has so much more to his game.
The beast is one of the best Spurs DM's I've seen in my time as a spurs supporter [Alan Mullery/Stevie Perryman/Gary Mabutt, although all of them played in other positions as well], Paulinho looks to also have a great engine and bags of offensive skill and threat.

Paulinho could play with Sandro & Dembele. But the key aspect is he can replace both of them in the first XI as well. Paulinho has ability to tackle/intercept as well as carry the ball forward & set up the attack.

One things for sure, if this trio start our team will definitely be difficult to break down - especially at a time when every top & rich clubs are stocking up their attacking line than defense.

Teams would dread coming up against Dembele, Sandro & Paulinho.

For the short period Dembele and Sandro played together last season they were absolutely unstoppable. Adding Paulinho to that would make our midfield hugely powerful and straight up unpleasant to play against.

Agreed, it'll be a fast and powerful brick wall in defence and the same in the counter attack with an option of passing off to Lennon or Bale for more punishment. Ooh, i'm wet at the thought.

We need to upgrade Lennon though but the system is slowly coming together.
