Paulinho not interested? What cobblers, you guys remember Sandro right? He'll give Paulinho a thumping if he even considered not joining the mighty lilywhites.

I love the idea of a midfielder who gets himself in the box - been missing for a while imho.

So do I, but it's no good if he's got himself into the box, yet we haven't got a player capable of unlocking the defence to put the ball in the box for said box to box player to receive the ball.

Rebrab said that our plan is too be very strong and powerful through the middle and fluid and creative upfront

This I agree with, but other than Bale, and possibly Lennon where is that creativity going to come from? Is Gylfi really up to the job?

here's why i'm really stoked about the latest news regarding paulinho...

1) imagining that we would have been at 15m for the longest time if levy was handling the transfer, 15m+a bag of crisps and the likes... but with baldini, its probably more like.. "we want paulinho and offer 15m" "no signor, we no sell paulinho, brazil starting CM" "ok... we offer 17m to trigger his buy out clause, that's it then"

2) many have stated the beastiality (sic) of a midfield 3 of sandro paulinho and dembele... but i love it even more because, with the pressing in centre mid, opposition will tend to either hoof it forward due to pressure, or push the ball a bit further in trying to dribble past any of the 3... that means that it will be easy for good readers like verts and kaboom to intercept and then... it leaves players like bale, lennon, holtby, villa / bernard to just float around a la vdv, be in a position to receive the ball once possession is turned over, and quickly exploit the spaces left behind... and... with any of the 3 also sprinting up to support... salivating thought

3) i like how player for player, it sounds like we will bully the opposition into surrendering possession, and when it comes to them stoke, more than able to nullify their long balls and big boys.

4) it signals intent to have a signing sealed early

5) he is ahead of ramires

Listen to Tim vickery on talksport, he thinks that paulinho is suited to the English game and amazed no one else gone in for him. He said he is a lampard/gerrard type player. Bursting from mid into the box and scoring goals.

I hope we pull this off

The Torygraph posted this 'exclusive' last night.

Exclusive: Paulinho, the highly-rated Brazilian midfielder, set for £15m move to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have agreed a deal of more than £15 million to sign the highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.

That's astonishing. After 49 pages on SC, even they've got the message.

I see the frenzy has begun. We usually have one of these per window. Arshavin, Torres, Moutinho, Leandro.

I'm not getting moist until the OS tells me to.
