Leandro was never officially accepted, though. They may have had a verbal agreement, but nothing to the effect of it being widely reported as officially accepted on both ends.

And all I really remember about Diarra was a lot of speculation. One being a straight up transfer deal and another part of a Modric deal.
Has this deal been officially accepted then? Serious question. Because all I have seen is different tweets off people who mean as much as myself in football transfers.

The deal has been accepted yes, all we're waiting on is for it to be signed, as far as us and Corinthians are concerned its a done deal

I dont even care if it falls through. Buy a fucking striker.

Don't you think buying the likes of Paulinho will make it damn sight easier to buy a good quality striker?

Even if the next purchase is winger who is creative (Which we also desperately need), would even further make getting striker easier?

Not to mention that we have come very close to signing Paulinho, gives me great confidence that AVB, Baldini and Levy are getting it right, this window in aiming for and achieving targets.

I so hope this deal goes through just like all of you do, but I like most of you still worry!

I wonder how far down the line inter actually got with him!! We're they (inter fans) like we are now? Expecting it all to be done and all agreed just not signed!!

Hope not!!

Paulinho is the perfect player for Luongo to learn from. Massimo has a similar skill set which he could hone watching Paulinho train/play.

To be fair to other clubs, excluding Chelscum - no need to be fair to them ever, Paulinho has been on the radar of several teams for more than the last few months, more like the last few seasons. If we sign him we are not gazumping those sides per se, we are just getting the business done where they have failed for whatever reason/s.

It's much the same for some of our targets who have ended up at other clubs. It's not fair to say we were gazumped for those players. A price was set. A club met the price. We weren't that club; it's a fairly binary proposition.

While I agree in the technical side of your argument, in this case it would be pretty clear that Chelsea are gazumping IMHO. They have no specific need for this player right now and have shown no intent. Of course, club and agent might be on a whoring mission for sure...

Tottenham fear Chelsea may swoop in and hijack £15million Paulinho transfer

23 Jun 2013 22:30
Spurs have agreed fee for Brazilian midfielder but worry London rivals Chelsea may attempt last-minute swoop

Paulinho last night kept Spurs sweating amid talk that Chelsea could hijack the north Londoners’ move for him.
Spurs are understood to have agreed £15million fee for the 24-year-old Corinthians star.
But Chelsea, who pinched Oscar from under the noses of QPR last summer, have been linked with a similar swoop for Paulinho.
Speaking after Brazil’s 4-2 Confederations Cup win over Italy on Saturday, Paulinho said: “There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians.
“But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I’ll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision.”
“I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it’s hard to deal with all these things.”
Corinthians director of football Edu has confirmed negotiations with Spurs are at an advanced stage. He said: “The situation is well underway.
“We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can’t say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good.”
Paulinho, who has been at Corinthians for three years, has 15 Brazil caps so a work permit should be a formality.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has also confirmed his interest in Bernard, the Atlético Mineiro midfielder, and Tottenham are also considering a move for Caen striker Lenny Nangis.

The Mirror journalist has almost certainly been looking on these forums and has created a story based on what us fans are worrying about, as there's nothing new in the article at all. And bringing up Oscar to QPR is taking the piss!
