There was a point when conte came in we thought sanchez was done, but he has shown that given the opportunity he can rise to the challenge, hopefully gil will do the same. He is young but very talented, he just needs to show conte day in day out that he has the physicality for this league and im sure with the number of games coming thick and fast he will get his chance.

Yes but that is my point, if Conte trusted Sarr he would just tell Hoijbjerg to go of when he was in pain, you could even see it in some of the running back to goal that the spark was gone.

Hojbjerg doesn't know what pain is!
But I think if Skipp was fully fit the sub might have been made. He has had more time under Conte, and I think that's a big issue with Gil and Sarr at the moment.

They need more time training with Conte before he will trust them (if they impress)

With the two that we have less confidence in, it will be important to bring them on in games that we're a couple of goals up in I think. 2 goals up in games and Conte will have to take a few more risks in bringing Moura and Gil on to balance out the workload a bit. Both of them are going to have to play regularly, personally providing everyone remains injury free in the Carabao Cup i'd start Moura, Richarlison and Gil.

I do not agree with bringing every player on in Carabao cup games, this is why our Europa confrence games was so bad, if you want to trust confidence in new young players, put them in with the 100% starters, you have to bed them in with quality around them, if you put every B player in the same team that almost never play together they are set up to fail.

He will definitely get time on the pitch in the coming months. There’s so many games and so many substitute possibilities. It’s really up to him to show Conte what he can do when he gets subbed on. He’s very good technically but obviously physically really lacking, he needs to show that the latter doesn’t matter much and get a few assists or goals. Anthony Gordon isn’t stacked and he’s doing very well in the PL from out wide. Work your socks off and fans will love to see him succeed here.

He’s one of the few highly technical players we have, but clearly it’s his physicality that concerns Conte. I hope he gets his head down after the disappointment of not getting his move away. He was also good pals with Regi and Lo Celso so I hope some of the other players look after him and keep his morale up. He’ll be needed for rotation purposes and could be an important squad player for us if injuries hit.

Yeah I echo what you're saying. He's one of many players signed over the years that haven't had nearly enough game time to show what he is about. But he plays in a style that we simply don't have anywhere else in the team.
I get that conte wants physically imposing players, but I'm sure one player being slightly smaller isn't going to derail the whole system. I would guess he will get minutes in the domestic cups, hopefully he impresses.

I agree. Hopefully we will get a chance to see what he can do.
You never know, Bryan Emo might still be a star.

The options available weren't better than what we currently have. I hope Gil is given a chance he is the sort of player we actually need ie ball carrier.

Moura Richarlison Gil can work with proactive wingbacks

Everyone is talking about giving Spence a chance with Emerson suspended (which I agree with) but I also want to highlight that Gil should get more of a chance now that Lucas and Kulusevski is out in the coming weeks.

We signed him for €25m + Lamela which is arguably around €35m. That is a substantial fee for someone who hasn’t started a meaningful game. He’s got 86 minutes in the league in total over 9 games.

If he doesn’t get a chance of the bench with two injured then he needs to leave the club as soon as possible.

I flagged this up yesterday too. He's got to step up now, we need him. If not we have to go with just 2 up top to help manage the squad through the next month.

Either we play him or he goes down as one of the biggest wastes of money in Spurs history. £25m+ Lamela and he can’t even get a game with two players ahead of him injured?

Hope he takes his chance if it comes.

Or else he is finished here.

It's a bloody shame Conte doesn't appear to rate him. From the little I've seen of him in our colours he looks like an excellent prospect, but clearly for someone else, not for us.

I'm with the cat on this one, he's wasted with us if we don't utilise his talents.

If we don’t use him over the coming weeks then why on Earth did we cancel his loan. The fact is, if we don’t give him some game time now then it’s absolutely awful man management whichever way you look at it.

My fear is that one day soon we'll be watching him tear up some European defence somewhere and we'll be cursing the fact we had him and let him go, but I s'pose thems the breaks.
