I was just responding to someone who said the hoped Moura would be an alternative to Eriksen.

For the record, Fekir can play 10, AM and striker. Just saying.

yeah, I understood. I was just pointing out how special Eriksen is. We shouldnt be looking for an Eriken clone necessarily - there arent many and wont sit on the bench. We do need to figure out how to break down defenses without him without expecting someone to emulate him.

like get a Gareth Bale. That worked well after we lost Modric. Just pass the ball to Bale.

Fekir's your man. Not a clone of Eriksen, but can do Eriksen type things, see the angles, play the through balls, but also gets into the box himself and scores plenty. In my heart of hearts, I do wonder if Fekir's temperament would be an issue with someone like Poch, but I'd love to chance it.

It was why I was very disappointed with the whole Pritchard situation. Obviously not as good, but he could provide similar qualities to Eriksen, and if he'd been given any encouragement at all, I'm sure would have happily been happy to stick around a bit longer. We probably could have kept him happy because he can also play anywhere across the Am3. Hey ho.

I was hoping Drexlers's position may become untenable at PSG, unfortunately it was Moura's...

The kid Maddison seems promising as a "10" type.

Something that does seem slightly puzzling about the way out squad is constructed is the total lack of an Eriksen style alternative. You would think if your team has a certain style of play it would be vital to have interchangeable types.

Sigurdsson is a wonderfully talented footballer but a laboured and limited athlete. The anti-Sissoko, if you will...

Merging the two of them together would produce a world-beater.
He's got good technique and a great striker of the ball, but nowhere near as creative a fulcrum as Christian.

Yeah I’m still disappointed with how we handled Pritchard as he wasn’t given a fair crack for me.

Think he would have been nice cover for Eriksen.

apart from his usual brilliance directing the attack he tracked back to defend all game long. pretty much a perfect game.

He always does this, runs and presses more than anyone else. It's not just his link up play we miss, it's the way he plugs gaps high up and ushers players away from their targets.

He was superb tonight.

The most important business we can do in the summer is buy an understudy to Eriksen or even someone with similar football intelligence who can play with him at times.

i agree, but we should really let the ghost of alex pritchards tottenham career rest in piece. it was never meant to be and it is time to move on.
