Great performance from him last night and whilst it was the last ditch defending that got all the plaudits, for me it was the way he calmly played out of defense that stood out.

It's probably best for him to get a fresh start somewhere and be the main man, rather than perennial backup but I wouldn't be upset at all if he stays.

Would rather that display was a good audition to move elsewhere, rather than one to be in our plans

Either that or if we don't sell a springboard to build some confidence and hopefully improve whilst he's here. Said it a million times but him over Dier for me if it's a choice of one. Last night showed the difference between them in as blindingly an obvious way as possible

We would miss Dier's Freekicks though

Either way, at last we have a manager who is developing players again rather that one that freezes them out before playing them all in some Carabao cup giant killing. Even if Ange doesn't want these players a lot of them have been showcased and positive performances make them more sellable.

Ange seems to be bringing out the best in some of our 'duds'. LoCelso looks like the player we paid top money for and now Davinson has suddenly produced a top class performance. Credit to the Boss.

Had a good game yesterday and hope it caught the eye of teams interested in him. He is more suited to our system than Dier but isn't comfortable enough in possession long term. In terms of recovery/covering area behind him he ticks the boxes however in a higher line, he isn't good/comfortable enough with the ball at feet.

It’s a tricky one with Sanchez as he has these periods of being really solid then has some really dodgy games.

Not sure we can afford to take the chance, especially if we can get a few that potentially allows us to get another centre back in.

Then next summer we really need to not be renewing Dier’s contract (sorry seems a nice guy but not the standard anymore I’m afraid) and bringing another centre back in, even if not a massive name.

I’d be looking to let Dier go over Sanchez in an ideal world (prefably both) but there seems to be no takers.

I agree but it’s gonna take more than a defeat in a friendly to convince me. He even went on a good, established run back end of 21/22 and again at the beginning of 22/23, we had some great record of over 9 hours or something without conceding when Sanchez played. But at the end of the day he always reverts back because he isn’t good enough

I doubt he stays. But he showed what a committed pro he was last night. I hope other teams in Europe paid attention, as he put on quite the show. Demonstrated he has the ability to play at the CL level. And certainly worth 15m euros or more.

I don't disagree I was saying rather him than Dier. Ultimately Dier is not a defender, or a midfielder these days and shouldn't be in the squad any more.

The performances he's put in since those twats at our stadium boo'd him off the pitch have turned him in to a bit of favourite for me, seems to have a strong character. Hope he stays and does well or gets a good move...

Agree, can't see it happening though especially after that performance. Surely a Spanish team watched that and can see a player in there.

Maybe that's the trick... play Sanchez just in away games so all the shit fans who boo him at home can't get near him.

Everyone has their slight failings. He was made for this sort of system and is the reason his pre season has looked so much better than previous years/systems.
Really hope he comes good, it’s been a long time coming. I think he’ll have a great season with us this year and has a son/royal style turnaround in how fans view him.
Come on Davo!!!

Wonder what Spurs fans would say if we'd be linked to a defender and they'd check his FBREF and found these stats.
