It's not the player, it's the system he's playing in and the lack of support right now. Klinsmann is ruining this team. Definitely a massive overreaction here.
Not paying any attention to the system. Just focusing on Yedlin. Yedlin's first touch is terrible, as is every Americans to be fair, which is a huge indictment on the poor youth set ups that Klinsmann is trying to change. He doesnt really put any pace on his passes when not trying to get it into the box. And the accuracy of them leaves a bunch to be desired. It's the technical skills that are really not up to par. The system is not helping, and the lack of support isnt either. But his technical skills are just not close to being good enough.
I've noticed it the past few games for the US. I keep trying to move past it because I like him and I really want him to come good for us. Not only because the US needs a young decent outfield player in a top league to even maintain some credibility, but because the whole "solely a marketing purchase" line bugs me to no end, but I just keep coming away with the feeling it just wont happen for him.
As for Klinsmann, I'm not his biggest fan as manager, but I am not a hater either. Im indifferent on him. But being honest, I'm not sure he should be fired if we lose to Mexico in the playoff. He still has, by far, the highest win % in competitive games(i know, i know sounds very tim 'esque), but he also has the guts to schedule friendlies against top competition, and actually has decent results in them. I think he's doing good things with the youth levels, and is trying to expand the current talent pool, which is very poor, to get some better quality. As for the continuous snubs of players who are killing it in MLS, there's been quite a few rumblings that the last time they were called up, they caused some distruptions in the squad, and also theres rumblings that Feilhaber, in particular, is not on good terms with Dempsey. So if those are true, the snubs are understandable and are rightly done.
To be fair, Walker is not good either and is definitely not the best RB at this club. Probably 3rd behind Dier.

I've been a big supporter of Walker's, actually. But i've just seen enough of him. He just doesnt offer much in the way of end product and is so tentative about overlapping and making the runs down the right, that it really hurts the attack. He is not all great shakes defensively whatsoever. Trippier has much better end product going forward and is better defensively. As is Dier. Walker should be the #2 RB right now though because Dier is now first choice DM.
