Player watch: Josh Onomah

He’s Basically in a straight fight with winks TOB Skipp. Can only see him coming 4 th in that. And that’s before we buy anyone.

Winks and Skipp arent anything like Josh, so I dont think they can impact each other squad status that much. TOB is a long ways away from the 1st team imo.
If we sign a Barkley then that would be a direct challenge to Josh, but with the decline of Dembele and the complete uselessness of Sissoko there's still plenty of room for Josh.

Fans opinion are so fickle, next time he has a good game he will be better than Sissoko.

He’s just too languid for me. You just want to shake him and wake him up. I realise that’s his style but it’s not for me. I never rated him,but after the World Cup thought maybe. But after seeing 3 or 4 games for villa nothing has changed to what I’ve seen in a spurs shirt which in 30 odd appearances has not been a great deal. I’ve tried to think of other positions scenarios. But tonight he was truly awful and I’d imagine he won’t be getting back in that team for a while. He’s very frustrating because in moments he can look very classy. But I must have seen him nearly 50 times now with spurs England and villa and I just can’t see him ever being good enough for us. Clearly he isn’t a 10 and a deeper CM position is his best. I could see him somewhere like a Brighton or a Swansea I think that’s about his level.

Bring him back. He has a very clear chance to break into the 1st team with Wanyama out and Mousa going through his injury issues. Plus, it would be alot better than seeing Sissoko playing as a CM for us as Josh offers waaaay more.

Just goes missing too much imo. Don’t really like his body language either. Just seems to stroll around most of the time. Can’t compare his attitude to say winks or Skipp.

I haven't seen tonight's game yet, and I know there are facets of Onomah's game that need work, and he may not ever get the chance with us to improve them, but if you'd have seen some of Kane's performances at Leicester and Norwich on loan you'd have said pretty similar stuff. Most of us did.

He's 20. At that age Kane was scoring his first goal for us. Far too early to make such claims. Fucking pathetic some of our fans.
