I can’t believe we are about to waste one of our biggest talent that has come through our academy in recent years (KWP)! I’m not Trippier’s biggest fan but he’s a decent player but imo if KWP got the chance he would better what Trippier is doing. And if we are going to sell Rose and Trippier why aren’t we giving KWP minutes Even against PL from the bottom of the table?

I love Poch but I’m seriously starting to doubt how he’s handling our academy players. We cannot waste Kyle Walker-Peters potential!

From what I hear, call it my personal opinion; we would listen to good offers in the summer for Tripps. KWP also getting restless, and wants a loan. He won’t hang around after his loan period, or sign an extension to his new contract-if it was offered.

Make your own choices and opinions on that.

To me that sounds like a kid that wants to play, but will come back in the summer and fight for his spot. Given the chance to play he will rethink the idea of signing a new contract. But didn't he just sign one this year? So he is safely ours, just has to be given the chance to play. Not worried at this point, but I for one would rather see him then Trips even though Trips is a proven PL commodity. If we could get 20m for Trips I take it and let Serge take the bulk of the big games. I believe in Serge and think he will fully come into form when given a regular burn.

What reports? I see two ITK saying something like "he wants to play". Nothing along the lines of "my time is done here".

The reports that we won’t sell Trippier this season which means that KWP won’t get game time this season and Hercules said that he thinks that KWP might get loaned out and not stay after the loan.
And as I said I don’t fully trust Poch to give him his chance to get a place in the team. IGSpur has multiple times given the argument that we are overrating Poch when it comes down to giving academy players the chance. Imo KWP is better than Trippier and was even awarded MOTM on his debut so why not keep giving him minutes? I’m not saying he should be a starter but the Apoel game for example why didn’t he start?

Of course I’m going to wait and see what happens but I don’t have a good feeling about this hopefully I’m proven wrong tho

I am not reading into that Hercules bit too much. He definitely deserves a chance to get half our games and agree he is a better fit for our game than Trips. But given a loan, to most likely a bottom half team, would not be the his ideal situation. He wouldn't want to move to Swansea and fight relegation or something of the sort for his young career. Plus he is on a contract, we would have to be willing to listen to offers.

If Poch is keeping Trips until Summer, then KWP has to be loaned and given game time. But he doesn't get to dictate where he goes due to his contract.

Sometimes I feel like people ignore the obligations of contracts. Like you can just say bye and move on when locked in for XYZ years. Look at Modric. He was sat due to his contract and KWP has zero clout in comparison.

Trippier is competing for a spot on the World Cup squad. I don't think KWP is at that level...yet.

Def not given no game time, but given it I have to think he is up there or above Trips in skill level. I have to think what is keeping him back is the idea of his positioning and game knowledge. Skill wise he is leaps and bounds ahead of Trips.

But we had last summer to do that when we knew that Walker would be off. He's not playing now because he's not quite as good as the other two. Personally I can't see the sense in selling Trippier in January in a world cup year when it looks like he'll probably make the squad. I guess it all depends on how much we're offered though.
I dont think anybody can really fault the club or judge KWP ability by the fact that Aurier was brought in it would have been incredibly brave and naive to go through this season with Trippier and KWP. KWP is not playing because it's hard enough to settle one RB into the premier league, let alone when his backup is an unknown inexpierence quality.
The summer's the right time to make the transition, it's what's best for the club. KWP is going to become a stud.

It's that another one of Levy's money making ideas?

Where on earth have people got the idea that Trippier could be off in January?

The idea is complete and utter nonsense. After one bad game?

Hertyid on coys:

I've been told the Trip story is total bullshit. I wouldn't pay much attention. He wants to play because it's World Cup year but he has made 16 starts already this year and will get plenty of gametime as we move into busy season Jan through to April. Poch has spent two years developing KT from an unfit 25 year old with untapped potential into an England international, he's not about to let him walk away. And even then who is the replacement? Losing one RB in a year is bad, losing two is just careless.

So why is he a 5? Not that I care.

5/10 is average. So if you were saying he was average going forward and average at defending Your 5/10 might make more sense but your saying he’s above average at defending.

Anyway, as others have said, popping up with a couple of goals and getting a few assists in the first half of the season is hardly average imo.
I said 5/10 going forwards, 7/10 overall.

I actually disagree with that. I wouldn't sell him in January but next summer I think we will be fine with Aurier and KWP. If it pockets us an extra £20m or so for other areas then i'm fine with that.

It's not really a comparable situation to the Walker transfer.

The KWP situation is weird to me because KWP is an extremely versatile player. And his skillset ( athleticism, dribbling ability and intelligence) lend themselves to other positions. Really shocked that Poch and the staff haven't tried to play him a more attacking role, even for the last 15 minutes of a game. I bet he'd do better as winger/ attacking mid than GKN.
