We should seriously consider selling him in this window. I think PL clubs would be ready to offer us good money and KWP could do a better job than what he’s currently doing. And if KWP doesn’t play as well as Trippier has he will still learn and get better. With the money we can invest in other areas

If Poch thinks KWP is a better option he will play him ahead of Trippier. I don’t see rush to sell him

Do they? Where is this coming from? Or are you just making it up because he's had a few bad performances and you just want rid?

I’ve always wanted us to sell him. His market value is probably high now and I don’t know if it can’t get any higher

It's a tough one for me.

I love Tripps, he was willing to come to Spurs and fight for a place, he did that, and became an England international. He has been a model professional during his time here, and seems like a great guy.

Then there's KWP, who I think could do the job, especially now that Vic is back (and Toby soon to be too). Serge could start against tougher teams, KWP against the lesser teams (where defensive responsibilities would be lighter).

If he stays, I'm happy. If he goes and KWP gets promoted, I'm happy.

What are people basing KWP being ready on? Is it hope? Something they have read? Or watching him in the u23s?

In the summer there were reports of Pochettino not thinking he was ready. There is more to youth development than simply giving minutes on the pitch.

So unless there is evidence that Pochettino believes KWP is ready to play in let’s face it some pretty huge games then I see no reason to sell Trippier this month.

Now Wanyama is back, Dier can return to defence making a 3, and Tripps can be a wing-back again.

he looked fine v Newcastle,

just about every team we play outside the top 6 seem to be parking it against us now,

so KWP at RWB with Vic DM and Toby RCB + Sanchez CB would be fine against all these teams imo.

You suggesting we sacrifice Son, who has been consistently good for the past 6 weeks and gives our attack its only genuine pace and width, Dele who has come back into form and is getting better each game, or Eriksen, our creative fulcrum on whom we rely for intelligent purposeful football.

Wanyama back gives us the option of 3 at the back, but currently we look far better with a back four and a front four. He can compete with Dier for a DM spot, and Dier can drop into defence to give Sanchez a break.

I’d like to think you are right but like I say the reports from the summer were pochettino didn’t think KWP was ready.

Just wondering what those saying otherwise are basing their view on.

He isn’t fit for purpose in a back 4 and it’s baffling how Poch cannot see this system just highlights his short comings. He is a very useful player as a wingback however, his delivery is a real weapon but I don’t feel he is good enough to warrant blocking the development of one of our brightest academy prospects in KWP

If I was in charge, and I’m not, I would look to move him on whilst his stock is highest install Serge as our clear first choice, and have KWP rotating with him

I would be really cheesed off if we end up losing KWP because he is unhappy with his playing time, all because we are persisting with a not quite good enough Trippier

Considering he's basically a starter 50% of the time whereas last season it was never really until Walker fall out I think he's been dreadful. He should have used us putting faith in him as a platform. In a 4 he looks a weak link, he doesn't offer barely anything in attack because he's not athletic enough to join attacks and he's a really poor defender. If we mostly keep a 4 (which I like as it means Dele, Son and Eriksen can all start) then if the rotation doesn't fall right we could end up with Trippier against Utd, Arsenal or Juventus which concerns me if its a 4. Poch may have to play a 5 if that's the case, but changing it just because your RB can't defend is pretty weak.

I'd be very tempted to accept a big bid to be honest and start Aurier in every game, Walker does it at City, apart from the odd "easier" home game where I'd rest him and give KWP game time.
