It really is embarrassing we're THAT bad at buying quality players.
We need to get someone decent in to buy players for us, not Levy - I wanted Mitchell to come good, but what the hell happend with him, Levy again i guess.
He is so bad.
There was a moment in the game yesterday where he ran with the ball and in the middle of the run it kind of hit his right foot then bounced off his left and somehow still ended up in his path. It wasn't controlled, it was clumsy.
I do think we will sell him and if we bring in Zaha instead then that's a great upgrade.

Stil baffles me as to how he gets so much more game time than Nkoudou but Nkoudou seems to be a bit on the shit list with Poch it seems. Plus, I'm not Onomah's greatest follower but I can't see how he can do much less than Sissoko.
Yesterday's cameo was a even more of an eye opener, in times where he had good space his touch let him down or even more alarmingly when baring down towards goal from out wide he just didn't look like he knew what to do at all. He also continued to show a lack of composure in front of goal, slashing at a good chance. He's just not showing any signs of promise whatsoever unfortunately, there's nothing to cling onto that may give a ray of hope.

Poch obviously feels different. And thats my point about Sissoko being competent and Id add experienced.

Can we send Sissoko to a sports psychologist to help him think about what to do when he gets the ball ?
To use a couple of tennis comparisons Nick Kyrgios ( who I met in the US a couple of weeks ago and we spoke about his love for Spurs and how he became a fan ) has improved from a quitter to a true competitor capable of being number 1 in the world after a couple of months of therapy and of course Jo Konta who won Miami yesterday used to freeze in all her matches until she started working with a mental trainer.
I make these comparisons only because the mental side of sport is so important and maybe Sissoko needs an intensive 3 months of therapy so he can actually avoid his constant brain freezes. Or maybe it's too late for him now...

His best matches for Newcastle were against big teams and for france, thats no coincidence imo
You are given more space with it being a slower pace/style of football in international football and against the big teams he was always effective when he had space to run at and attack.
At spurs we dont get that space, its why I think recruiting from the PL isn't necessarily a good thing as the teams we can sign players from will get a lot more space than we do

Why would we only need to pay £15m?
Are you talking in terms of a balance due to money they owe us already for Townsend perhaps? or do you know of some kind of clauses in the signings that we've not yet triggered?
I can't ever see him being anything but a huge flop and waste of money for us. Two key examples from yesterdays game summed him up.... The first being his awful touch during some nice build up play which eventually rebounded in our favour and resulted in a chance for Davies and his awful shot which he sliced high and wide
Just an athlete with substandard football skills or brain
I expect him to be off in the summer and I just hope we never see any future signings that are as bad as this one
The post above talking about Italy.... I could see his power and pace making him successful in Seria A to be fair

It's been reported as £5 million a season with a minimum £15 million fee it's only £30 million if he stays for 5 years
That doesn't sound believable to me but I hope it is correct
What's more likely with Levy negotiating it's been widely reported as the deal
It's unlikely to me that Newcastle would base any deal on the length of time he stayed with us, especially when they had Everton willing to pay £30m (unless I suppose they had the same £15m guaranteed and the rest based on time)
I can understand the £30m figure being a worst case scenario so to speak in as far as certain criteria would need to be met but I find it hard to belive the £5m a year and only half the total fee being guaranteed (with the rest being so unlikely to ever come in to effect given the players age)
I could believe something like 20-25m being guaranteed and then smaller sums being made up in clauses to be triggered such as appearances or honours won/milestones hit but I don't see why Newcastle would bow to a deal that has half the fee unlikely to ever be paid when they had another buyer in the market

I would have to go searching for articles but I doubt Levy would guarantee even £25 million for Sissoko. Newcastle were obviously chancing it trying to get £30 million offooty the back of the Euro's
