He has to go - should only get near this team if we have multiple injury issues in midfield, hardly seen him do anything worthwhile in a Spurs shirt in quite a few minutes of playing time!

Were you at the game tonight? I was. If you were, who do you think had a better and more influential game. Winks or Sissoko?

(Forget transfer fees and experience - I'm asking about the game this evening)

No I wasn't but I have been to others and watched the rest - apart from tonight, my judgement is based on all his other performances. I have never seen a pro footballer with such a bad first touch (most of the time) and this combined with his indecisiveness makes him incredibly frustrating to watch. I'm not one for jumping on bandwagons or not giving players a chance but I just see no glimmer of hope for the guy. Nothing personal, I just don't think he's very good!

There a clear agenda against Sissoko, you could hear it in the crowd tonight.

I payed particular attention to Sissoko tonight as it was a relaxed veiw in a half empty stadium. His first touch wasn't shit. He played some good one twos. His ideas were pretty good and his execution was very very decent. He was very good tonight I thought and deserved some credit. Plus he puts a foot in.

I'm warming very heavily to Sissoko.
Based on what I'm seeing. He is showing desire and application and is getting better after a wonky start to his career.

His attitude and application deserve our attention and support.

Anyone who says he was shit tonight over our other midfielders clearly has an agenda and is in my opinion a dickhead.

I think the real issue here is that you need to consult an eye specialist regarding your eyesight. Sounds like a very serious problem with your sense of sight.

I have summarised your post into four key words.

I'm not in here to just slate our player, but he does seriously look like when rugby players play football, they just look wrong. They can play but everything just looks awkward. It is one very expensive mistake. Pretty sure nobody on here could disagree with that without being related.

Decent tonight, one of our better players in an overall poor display.

Tried to make stuff happen and showed for the ball constantly. Crowd actually willed him on to score a few times.

No agenda and I generally do not rubbish our players and only Foyth came out of the game with real credit. In one attacking move Foyth showed more skill and foresight than Sissko has since we brought him. But it is amazing how we all see the game differently. I have no axe to grind on Sissoko and have seen some slightly better performances from him this year but Good is not a word i would share with Sissoko. Especially last night (I was there and have been to most home games where he has played and all of the ones this season).

He failed consistently tonight to trap and control the ball, move so that another player could pass to him, pass the ball forward, lift his head up to see the picture etc etc etc. If we want a player "to put his foot in" you do not need to pay £30m and his salary. He contributed nothing tonight when he should have been running the show. For £30m I expect a player to be able to pass and move and change the game.

Last night he was shockingly poor and he was the shitiest of the lot.

Seeing how everyone is ready to bring up Sissoko's price tag so much it means we can excuse Dele's average performances seeing as he only cost us £5M...That's how things work right?

All I can say is that you also have to consider the level of opposition last night.
Personally I thought he was awful again, not that anyone in the midfield was particularly good - but Dembele & Winks are recovering from injuries, Sissoko isn't.
Yes, he played one or two good passes to Trippier, but that's what you'd expect. A lot of times he also fannied around like his brain was still trying to engage, and by the time it did, he'd been closed down or the pass was no longer available.
He seems to panic when he gets the ball.
I don't care how much desire and application he applies, he's not of the standard required for us to compete for trophies.
I've seen him play 3 times this season and I still cannot make out why he gets in the team. I can only assume that once Wanyama is back, Sissoko goes back to the bench.

What I will give him credit for is his positioning. He's very rarely out of position, it's just what he does once he gets the ball that lets him down.

Couldn't see the game as the French here haven't heard of decent internet and sport TV but how did Foyth do? Talent? Albeit against Barnsley...

Foyth was pretty composed throughout. Not afraid to retain possession of the ball either, even surged forward midway through the second half.

What injury is Dembele recovering from?

Your post is very much agenda driven.

You are just plain wrong if you were at the game.

I'm not trying to say that he is a great player but believe me, having seen the rubbish we had playing for Spurs during the 2000's he is an average to good squad player. It's not his fault the fee that was paid for him. He puts in a 100% shift each game and you can be certain that if he didn't (and did not perform in training) then Poch would not pick him.

Last night in my view he was one of our best players. I just think people should give credit where credit is due. If he has a really poor game then he deserves to be slated but not on last nights efforts

There's no question he is improved. He will always make mistakes and stray passes. It is very annoying .Because if he had a first touch,he would be a world class player with his physical attributes. However imo he is a very useful squad player and gives us another dimension. His runs can cause chaos and create space for others.
