If the manager has a plan and all the players cannot follow it, whose fault is it? Where does the responsibility lie? If the players can see things aren't working, ie the plan is bad, can't they just lift their game a bit?

Do our attackers have too many off days?

These guys are on more money per week than I make in a good year, I tend to think a lot of responsibility lies with them?

Just asking

I'm upset that I actually believed we had a good bunch of players, high morale and a chance of challenging. Egg on my face. We'll not get top 4 and we'll be challenging for 5th.

Let down again.

Yawn. Football team has a bad run.... Shocking. Why do people act so surprised every time this happens.

Every team bar Chelsea has had at least one bad patch this season..... We have come through one already and were stronger out the other side.

No offense mate but I hope the egg on your face is about this comment. How people react to bad times is far more telling than how they react to the good and while I am not that enthused by the last few games I also remember 3 months ago when people were losing faith and panicking about how we had been found out....only for us to go on a fantastic run.

I think that people get frustrated trying to understand why we get an outstanding result (i.e. Chelsea or like when we played City) and then look ordinary or below par for a number of games afterwards. Is it tiredness? Do the players find it hard to get motivated for certain games? Wrong team selection? I understand the annoyance and probably sit somewhere between that and your relaxed approach.

I don't get why Pochettino let Kane and Alli running around trying to nutmeg and just playing for themselves every game.

Lots of bashing of Sissoko and Davies but look at these two. It says it all our attacking play doesn't work when we can't start Rose and Walker in advanced positions in 352.

Time to drop them both.

Just need a bit of back to basics imo. They need to remember when playing vs teams that will press and hunt us down non-stop, you need to move the ball quicker. Don't piss around on the ball, let's have some one touch, two touch football, in attack and in defence. Dier, Toby, Dembele, Wanyama, Dele and Kane all guilty of trying to do too much on the ball.

We have been so pedestrian in possession in the last few games.

Bit of chicken and egg.
The management and Manager has an obligation
to ensure that the staff are available to implement the plan in the first place.
The manager has an obligation to ensure that in any given game
the staff can fulfill the requirements of the plan.
The players have an obligation to pass, shoot and run properly
otherwise no plan is of any use whatsoever

what's happening this season is nothing new with Pochettino's teams and the same happened to us last season...the team is tired and we will blow the rest of the season....wait and see!

There was no attaching plan last night. And it fucking showed, because Gent didn't look like they had much of a defensive plan at all.

It is so embarrassing that we didn't destroy them.

Liverpool had 10 bad games followed by 1 good one, and now they're "purring" again according to some.

Ita a downturn in form. We'll improve.

Frankly I'd rather we have a bad patch now. If we are going to lose 3 matches in the rest of the year I'd rather they be against Gent and Fulham.

Well your wish may come true Sunday if not can see a scrappy 1-1 draw with a replay back at ours that we could do without.

What were we going to attach? Balls and chains to slow them down?

Liverpool were rubbish until Mane came back - what a surprise!
We were totally average until Toby came back and are now jittery and nervy because we have Davies at left back and Vertonghen and Rose out injured - arguably the best left sided CB and left back in the country.

The simple problem is that playing styles DO depend on the players. Our best 11 in a 343 is a fantastic team because everyone is freed up to do what they do best.

When one or two of those players are out, we are completely affected because the replacements are nowhere near as good. It's the same for most top teams tbf.

Hopefully once Vertonghen and Rose are back we can switch back to a back three as that seemed to suit Eriksen and Ali a bit better and we just played better and with a bit more freedom in that system.
