Everyone saying we need this we need that we need a new LB, Tanganga not good enough at CB, that midfield 3 is too attacking etc etc lol let’s wait and see!

This is a completely different style of play now it’ll be a 4-3-3, a high line, likely 2 inverted full backs, a 6 and 2 8’s, 2 wingers and a striker. Aim will be to keep a lot of possession, control games, quick pass and move etc etc so the likes of Reguillon, Ndombele, Udogie, Tanganga, Rodon, Spence etc etc who knows how they will all adapt to this, some will likely surprise us and some will likely not do as well as we’d think but it’s exciting either way.
I agree on some of this but I mean some are clearly just not going to cut it.
It’s alright saying new style and different formation however some you mentioned in that couldn’t even get a game at the clubs they were on loan at.

Well, I think everyone would agree that we would like to upgrade that position specifically.

But, if you were to ask me, who among Dier, Tanganga, Sanchez, Rodon and Davies would have the best combination of mobility and passing - it would probably be Tanganga.

Also - Tanganga has been training with the club longer this summer, and may be more up to speed with what Ange wants.
Yeah I think Tanganga's not bad technically and on the ball in general. Not brilliant but probably a better fit than the rest for Ange's style.

He's also, arguably, the least consistent defender of the lot though, sadly. He's quite rash and it feels like every time I've seen him the past couple of years he's looked shaky and cost us goals. And that's not to mention his constant injury issues.

Despite being a good fit in theory, I think he's just too unreliable in general to be a serious option next season beyond as homegrown 5th choice squad player. Think I'd genuinely prefer Dier as a 4th choice option - he'd be pretty rubbish in a high line but would at least largely be fit and could be trusted to do the basics.

Based on watching early training videos - Dier will need to work on his passing to get into the XI.

It's not his accuracy - its the quickness that will hold him back. A lot of training videos showing quick one-touch passing from the defenders, with no time to think.

Dier very much like to think about where he is going with the ball, and hopefully Ange will train that out of him - know where you are going before you get the ball, and move it quickly.
Great observation and completely agree with that mate as you say his passing is ok but it’s the speed of thought and speed of movement to make the pass which lets him down to suit Ange's style of football

Oh yea fully aware some will need to be moved on but just saying some will also be ok and look better under Ange.

He limped on the field and assisted a Kane goal…. Nothing noteworthy.
Was it a bad foul in the first place?

Dont want this to become the Ndombele slagging thread again but he has gone down too much too easily in the past and I do wonder if Ange would put up with that as would get very frustrating.

Shaktar tickets going well since they went to general sale , if sales continue at current rate will probably have to open upper tiers unless it is being restricted to level 1 , south stand and Paxton middle tier.
Just shows if they did struggle to sell out to disenchanted members in the coming season, going to general sale would easily achieve a full house.

Ndombele wasn't even fouled in the first place

He got injured kicking the ball into the net, you can see it on Cowlin's video on the previous page

I like that Maddison N’Dombele Bissouma midfield. That is as skilful as they come, and would be very very press resistant. If there’s any midfielder that can pick up N’Dombele’s defensive slack, it’s Bissouma. But I think you’d probably need to have Royal and Ben Davies as the two inverted FBs, for more defensive solidity.

Players will enjoy that so much, night and day compared to Conte and Jose style of play and training. Wayyyy more fun training in a way where your aim is to keep a lot of possession and play at high tempo and intensity.
Dier still taking too many touches though

I can't See that in the video, what time in the video was it at?

A quote from Aly Gold about his injury

The Frenchman, wearing his trademark snood on his head, fell to the floor during one attack amid a tangle of legs and lay there in considerable pain with his face in the turf and holding his leg. The match continued around him as medical staff came over to treat his problem and he lay there for a good couple of minutes without putting his head up.

Interesting in the presser they said to Ange did he want a squad of say 25 people and he said there is no magic number, it’ll need to be robust for the type of football we want to play but let’s see how things unfold.

He also said he can’t wait for uncertain situations to become certain we need to start working straight away to get ready for the start of the season.

Love how he’s so on it straight away with a very clear plan but he’s clever enough to know he might need to adapt his plan/players he will be using as certain transfers in and out transpire during the transfer window.
