We should of got at least a point against City. Had we done that there would only be two points between us instead of five.

Us in the top 4 is not in the SKY script and they will be desperate for us to fail.. "We can't have a team that does not buy a single player in transfer window, has no permanent ground and is riddled with players looking elsewhere for more money any where near the top 4" This can't happen.

Really hope yesterday was a sign of things to come because we were fantastic. All of the big names who have been below par seemed to simultaneously click into gear. Also the press was back! Wonder whether Poch has been holding it back to avoid burn out, hopefully see a lot more of it going forward.

I think this is definitely the case. The fact of the matter is we don't need to do it against the majority of PL teams and, in fact, against the bus parkers it's actually detrimental as it compresses the match into one half and makes it really hard to find space, which obviously is exactly what they want. I think the fact that we've given up total control in many of our matches against lower opposition has, at least in part, been deliberate strategy to get them to come out a bit so that we can pick them off.

I think so. Our star players were all at the World Cup and I think this played a part in our worse performances.

However as a team we still picked up points and I believe we will now go on a good run.

I'll say it again. If Son has a good second half of the season and Kane remains fit, we'll be playing CL football in our new swanky stadium.

to be honest I don't think we will see the full press every week due to burn out, but will try and use more against the big guns, and a lesser press v teams near the bottom half

I agree but this is a week where we probably need to do it for 3 successive games, which is a bit annoying.

That United performance showed me that. We were pretty poor with the ball first half but you could see that we were trying to be a lot more smarter with energy and I wouldnt be surprised if this was why we were overturning possession so much. It seemed to be much more about mentality as opposed to performance. Now with our front 6 all fit, we can rotate and maintain the press, I don't expect to see it full on all the time but we may be able to switch gears more effectively.

Should we? City should have been out of sight by the time Lamela missed literally our only chance of the game.

That Chelsea game has made me a bit more confident now. That is the first time this season where we have seen the real Pochettino Spurs - we were back to our pressing best of old.

Hopefully this is the start of Son's purple patch, as we have desperately missed his contributions. The trio of Kane, Alli and Eriksen is also something that hopefully stays together, as we just play so much better with those three on the pitch.

In my opinion we are still a bit too weak in central midfield, even with the massively improved Sissoko and Winks. However I think Jan and Toby at the back plus our attacking players including Lucas and Lamela as options off the bench should be able to cover this.

If we play like we did yesterday we'll be ok.

Our first proper performance of the season.

Agree. We've so far been getting the results by and large but we've all come away from the games feeling a little uneasy about the performances. This was the first game off the top of my head where we well and truly played the other team off the park.

Was on the bbc app earlier
Thanks for that, I was beginning to question my sanity.

We had a lot of chances. Perhaps not direct shots on goal, but numerous times we opened them up and should have done better than we did.
They were the better team, but we had chance, good chances to really expose them.

Have to say, I don't remember those chances, although it was a pretty forgettable game for us.

Just had a look at the XG for the game, which I tend to think is a pretty accurate reflection of attacking performance of the two sides, and it was 0.43 for us vs 2.24 for them. We had one shot on target, they had 6.
