I don't post in Spurs Chat very often to be honest. I tend only to get involved when I think a player is getting undeserved stick. The bulk of my posts in here have been in support of Lee Young-Pyo and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Well last night wasn't really much about Pav nor were many other games. Just seems you have been more active caring about Spurs since we got into the CL- after writing off your support as far as I recall.

I never wrote off my support.

What I actually said was that I was backing away from football, both because I had become jaded with it and no longer found the same enjoyment as I used to, and to refocus on my favourite sport, which is tennis.

I'll always want CSKA Moscow, Spurs and Mers AFC to do well mate. On the active caring note, I've always actively cared about all three of them, I always will.

Yep well impressed with Gallas last night too.

He is starting to show some serious form, which he did admittedly say in an interview a few weeks back, that he needed fitness.

Could be a cracking freeby for us, lets be honest, he aint never gonna be a WHL legend, but if we did go onto do something seriously incredible this season, with him at the helm, well.. you never know.

yup he is starting to come to and if he can pass his experience on to kaboul and bassong like Naybet did to King then we will be set up for hopefully a long time

Four, not five, other than that, yes.

Obviously if I was rating on eye-catching performances then I would ignore the 10 abysmal crosses which Bale put in, plus the times when moves involving him went nowhere and rate him a 10, but I look at the overall contribution to a match, and there were players, for me, who contributed, overall, as much and more than Bale.

crack/methhead:)

Modric was head and shoulders above every other player on the park. Apart from Bale who doesn't count as he is on another planet.

Give him space and he will murder you. Silly Benitez.

Agree with The Apprentice. Modric was on another level last night. He was immense. The little bit of skill to set up VDV was special as well, I don't think it's getting enough praise. He's really starting to dictate everything we do in the last few games. I'm loving that he doesn't seem afraid of a tackle either and it's almost as if we don't need a destroyer in our team anymore because both he and Hudd are willing to get stuck in.

Carlo - 7 - Made one excellent save from the Sneijder free kick and not much else wrong apart from a couple of moments where he could have come out quicker

Hutton - 6 - I don't think he was as bad as people are making out. You have to remember he was up against arguably the best striker in the world at the moment in Eto'o.

Gallas and Kaboul - 9 - both were immense on the night and nothing was going to stop them from dominating in front of the area. They defended like their lives depended on it and if it hadn't been for Modric and Bale, they would have been my MOTM's.

Ekotto - 8 - Solid as ever and willing to get forward as usual. Maicon got nothing out of him, nor did Biabany. As someone said earlier in the thread, he would play the same game whether its Grimsby or Barcelona.

Lennon - 7.5 - Thought that was his best game this season, getting at Chivu time and again and was always a threat. The only reason he is not getting the plaudits is because of a certain Welshman's performance.

Hudd - 7 - Did his thing again, and did it well. Don't think he put a foot wrong all night. Did his job as captain.

Modric - 8 - I don't need to say anything as I said it at the top of my post

Bale - 9 - What more can be said about him that hasn't already been said. Gave Maicon an absolute raping

VDV - 8 - Great 45mins of football. Seems to excel with Luka in the team

Crouch - 7.5 - Should have scored or played VDV in 25mins in, and we would have been two up. But much better than he has been in the last couple of games where he's started.

JJ - 7.5 - Did what he had to do when he came on. Shored up the middle a bit in the second half and played well.

Pav - 7 - Took his goal well and made their defence work hard. Not much else really.

Palacios - Bit late to rate him but he did what he had to do when he came on.

Harry - 10 - Got it right on the night again. He's right when he says we have no option but to attack because we have too many players to just sit back and defend.

Fans - 10 - Atmosphere was incredible and it really makes it tough for opposing teams. We really are a match for anyone at home.

I voted Bale becasue i'm not stupid but the foundation of that victory was Luka, kaboom, gallas and BAE.

For me especially Modric becasue he positively affected every 3rd of the pitch for spurs. He created, he controlled he defended.

Bale ran 11.92km last night, and Modders ran 11.72km. You wouldn't think it but, and triks has it spot on, Luka covers so much ground and in the form he's been in the last three games, he's really starting to be as influential as VDV and Bale.
