Bale ran 11.92km last night, and Modders ran 11.72km. You wouldn't think it but, and triks has it spot on, Luka covers so much ground and in the form he's been in the last three games, he's really starting to be as influential as VDV and Bale.

More influential. I'd sell both before Modders. Not becasue i've got a weird love for him i just genuinely beleive that type of footballer is long term more contributory to consistently high team performance than Bale or VDV.

chavs and goons at home, city away, liverpool at home last season. Modric MOTM in all of them.

But without VDV and Bale, he wouldn't have as much happening in front of him. I agree, without Modric we wouldn't have someone to dictate like he does. But without them in front he wouldn't have anyone to dictate to. If that makes sense.

Carlo - 8 Probably his most assured performance in a Spurs shirt, didn't spill the ball at all and made a very good save from the Sneijder f/k. No Chance for the goal.

Hutton - 6 The worst performer for Spurs, however he was hardly poor.

Kaboul - 9 I firmly believe that he is our number 1 CB for the future, he was strong, assured and played brilliantly against a great attacking line.

Gallas - 8 Credit to our Harry for signing him, seems to getting back to fitness and had a good match

Disco Benny - 7.5 Another good performance from our most consistent performer this year. The best left back we've had at Spurs in my lifetime.

Lennon 7 - Ran the line well, and caused them some significant problems. Still not back to his best, but very almost there.

Huddlestone 7 - Didn't steal the show, but I feel much more comfortable with him in the side. Spreads the play brilliantly.

Modders 8.5 - Brilliant work for the first goal, the timing of the pass was nothing short of perfect. Played very well and he's proving when he plays well we win.

VDV - 8 - Took his goal brilliantly, his touch and vision never cease to amaze me.

Crouchinho 8 - Missed a sitter in the first half, but I was very impressed. Inter (like most European teams) really did struggle to handle him. A couple of really good knock downs as well.

Subs -

Pav - 7 Nice run out for the Russian and capped it with an easy finish.

Jenas - 7.5 The Jenas revival continues. Exactly what we needed in the second half.

Palacios - Not enough time.

Overall WHAT A NIGHT! COYS

I'd say that he's more influential. He's been the heartbeat of our side, along with Thudd, for a couple of seasons now, isn't this his third with us, and other than being halted by injury, he's been pretty much one of the most important players for us, a position which he doesn't really look like losing to be honest.

A bit harsh on Bale, he's four years younger than Modric, already good to very good, if he can keep developing at the rate he has since Redknapp took over, the sky is pretty much the limit for the kid.

I see him moving inside when he gets older to be honest with you, much like Giggs has, and that would scare most of the central defenders in the world.

It went:

Bale
Modric
Zanetti
Crouch
Hudd

Ranging from 11-12km (roughly) those five were all in between that bracket

A truly master class performance by Luka Modric, as for Bale unbelievable. Not going over board on this however taking in the level of the game, a player such of the quality as Maicon, to be totally humiliated poor bloke running back out of breath continuously chasing a shadow you only had to feel sorry for the guy, it was like the world witnessed a new heavyweight boxer stepping on the scene announcing his arrival by knocking out the old guard.

Assou-Ekotto has to be Tottenham Hotspurs best left back in decades thank you Comoill.

Cudicni-8 Excellent. How he allowed himself to spend so much time as a number 2 is baffling really impressed me and reminded me of his quality.

Hutton-6 Taxi. What possessed him to show Et'to onto his strongest foot, real laps in positional awareness.

Gallas-8 Excellent, fitness coming back has always been a world class defender IMO.

Kaboul-8 Knew he had the potential, was marshalled/directed well by Gallas.

Assou-Ekotto-9 Unsung hero allows Bale to attack confidently knowing he'll be covered.

Lennon-8 That was better from Lennon, delivery has definitely improved but still need to add goals and shots on target.

Modric-9 Skil, Surprising Strength, Energy, Intelligence, A Joy...World Class.

Huddlestone-8 Personally were a much better team with huddlestone in it. Kept the ball rolling and was able to switch play.

Bale-9 Along with Modric and Assou-Ekotto were in my eyes the stand out performers his running ability and quality in the final 3rd superb Inter-CL successors could not deal with him...on fire!

Van De Vaart-8 Fabulously taken goal you can just tell he'd been Ajax'ed.

Crouch-8 Still think we need a new striker having said that must give him the phase he deserves, worked tirelessly for the team-though he did get cheesed off, always assisting Van De Vaart for all his goals thought, fuck this for a laugh, I'm having a dig, after Bale made Maicon look silly again down the left, Crouchie saw the headlines when a simple side foot pass for VDV to slot into an open goal, positioned himself crouch like and missed with a spectacular size 15 volley :)....well taken second half goal.

Subs:
Jenas-7 helped sure up midfield and broke when possible
Pavlychenko-7 fox in the box.
Palacios-7 Arry just could not trust Hutton so sent on reinforcements.

Harry Redknapp 9 Attack Attack Attack

I never wrote off my support.

What I actually said was that I was backing away from football, both because I had become jaded with it and no longer found the same enjoyment as I used to, and to refocus on my favourite sport, which is tennis.

I'll always want CSKA Moscow, Spurs and Mers AFC to do well mate. On the active caring note, I've always actively cared about all three of them, I always will.

Well for all the lack of enjoyment and fatigue, you seem to have a lot of energy this season- eg-the Pav thread a few weeks back. What a coincidence it has co-incided with our rise in achievement.

I think the standard response to this situation is...

'Where were you? Where were you? Where were you when we were shit?' :)

@Coyboy

If that's the way you choose to interpret things mate, it's not the way it is, but there's little point in me trying to change an already made up mind.

Same place as every other Spurs supporter of the time, being ridiculed on a regular basis for my choice of football team.

My grandfather, (a Newcastle supporter), and my brother, (a goon), used to particularly enjoy it, as did all the fucking Everton, Manure and Liverpool fans.

If we couldn't deal with ridicule at Spurs there would be none of us left :)
