Points of view

Arsenal was far the better team and deserved their win

How can you have Aurier on the bench while Playing Doherty? Especially in a NLD?

For a few games now some of us have been calling for Son to be rested as he has not been at the races lately, now he is unnecessarily injured.

Lamela's first red card playing for us had to happen one day, a pity it was this game. Hero to Zero some might say

We are just not good enough in areas of our play, where the buck stops at Mourinho's feet

Lamela was my MOTM until his red card. Although he "gave away" the penalty, I will still give it to Sanchez for as far as I am concerned it was never a pen

Disgraceful performance - approached it with completely the wrong set-up and mentality, gave them far too much respect and tbh didn't deserve a draw.

Doherty was a disaster, Son injury is a real blow - Lamela's second yellow was stupid as fuck but at least he looked like he gave a shit.

MOTM Lucas for at least giving Arsenal something to think about at times.

Regardless all those justified criticism, son injury forcing Lucas away from no10 role really destroy the plan (if we did have one)

Everyone bar Lamela, Lucas and Sanchez was very poor. It was clear that the tactics had been to sit back, wait for Arsenal's high line to push up, then release Son in behind, but once he went off it was clear that was absolutely no plan B at all. That being said, it was sad to see Reguilon, Ndombele and Bale all looking so poor in possession

That was a pen all day long. Shouldn't have launched himself into the block like that.

Although i do agree he had an okay game.

Lamela motm before the red. Lucas after.

Bale, Ndombele (he a actually wins the award for the worst pass of the game, which is some feat considering Doherty was on the pitch), Doherty, PEH and to a lesser extent Kane were awful. Take out Doherty and its a close run thing as to who was the worst.

Lucas the clear MOTM. Was excellent and shouldn't be moved around out of the 10 position. It's his best position strangely.

Lloris - 6
Doherty - 4
Alderweireld - 6
Sanchez - 6
Reguilon - 5
Hojbjerg - 4
Ndombele - 4
Moura - 7
Bale - 3
Son - 3 (did nothing pre his injury)
Kane - 5 (only showed up when we went down to 10 men)

subs:

Lamela - 5 (great goal but kept diving into tackles when on a yellow and ultimately sent off costing us any realistic chance of getting back into the game)
Sissoko - 4
Alli - 4

Manager:

Jose - 2 (woeful tactics from start to Lamela’s red when he finally set us up to attack)

So many poor performances today. So disappointing

Sanchez was my MOTM until the pen

Bale, who’s been the difference for us lately just didn’t turn up at all

Missed Aurier but is obviously carrying an injury so cannot play every game. Tierney took the piss out of Doherty all afternoon

Lucas was good, Lamela cancelled himself out I guess, Reggie was himself, Sanchez, Toby and Lloris ok.
Everyone else let themselves, and us, down.

But id rather have Sissoko or Tangaga or one of the youngsters or even Stevie B at right (wing) back before Doherty.

Lloris was not ok in the slightest. The penalty was down to his awful kicking. Really bad with the ball at his feet today often just conceding possession (although playing out short didn’t really work either granted). Toby looked hesitant throughout as well. I’d say both of them had a well below par game.

Only 3 players deserved a mention...Lamela, Lucas and Sanchez. Ask the others allowed the game down or gave away possession. I don't understand how they just didn't want to play today, it's a derby.
Lucas MotM for me. After the sending off he was insanely good at dribbling and singlehandedly tried to drag us back into the game.

I felt sorry for Sanchez on the penalty. If Lacazette his the ball cleanly then it's more likely a block but Sanchez couldn't not go in for the challenge.

Mourinho 3 - starting line up I was happy with. However, the two clangers, 1) giving Arteta the team talk by saying I don't look down the table 2) sissoko for Bale at 1-1. Like wtf. I'm happy to accept the players played shit but this is where Jose needs to fix shit with his subs. Didn't earn his money there

Sanchez motm - faultless performance.

Very poor defeat - arsenal are a bottom half team and looked it when put under pressure against 10 men.
Bale can shake his head as he came off but he didn't turn up.
Same with Ndom - lucky to stay on as long as he did.
Doherty unfortunately did turn up.
