Some strange ratings already for me, Vertonghen didn't look at the races at all today in my opinion (Im not sure if this was an injury or not) he didn't look very composed out there at all. I also thought Dembele did a reasonably good screening job and held a more disciplined role as the rest of them attacked. Until the last couple of minutes I thought he was having a better game than Paulinho, who I didn't think was adding much in attack or defence.

Blimey. I thought I'd be the only vote for Holtby, but it seems 4 others got there before me!

Changed the complexion of the game. I was screaming for him to come on 20 minutes earlier. His duracell bunny style isn't always what a game needs, but it's exactly what was required today to get past their bus. He was all over the pitch, keeping the pace of the attack up and putting them under constant pressure. The guy is perfect against teams like this, who are resolute but not gifted.

Great cross by Llama, and an absolutely incredible backheel volley finish by Paulinho. But it was Holtby's impact that fucked Cardiff's shit up.

Dembele - 5.5 once upon of time this guys got so much zoom zoom zoom, now all i see is lazy body language...

Soldado - 7 sharp. great teamplayer

SUBS:

Lamela - 7.0 sign of a great player, din't have much of the ball, but when he had the ball, he used it efficiently. Great assist. Great off the ball movement as well.

Kane - 6.5

Holtby - 7.5 alot of incisive pass within such a short span of time. Competition improved his game

Marshall MOTM by a mile.

Naughton was poor.

Would like to see Eriksen moved to Siggy's role and Holtby integrated. He has impressed in every game he's played this year.

I really like what I'm seeing.

Lamela and Holtby were absolutely immense in virtually very little time played. Holtby played at least 2 high quality through balls that set up clear cut chances, and Lamela won us two corners, won the header that set up the pass from Holtby, which Lamela then crossed to Paulinho for the goal.

I thought Sigurdsson was very poor today, absent his one shot that hit the woodwork. Townsend, also was poor for stretches, but controlled his shooting more today (bizarrely, he didn't shoot on his best opportunity of the day).

Get Lamela, Holtby, and Eriksen all in the same side, and you'll see the best of Soldado.

Maybe not against Chelsea but I really want to see Eriksen - Holtby - Lamela/Townsend.

p.s. how unlucky is Sigurdsson, guy must be a beast at crossbar challenge!

Our strongest midfielder was dembele, tbh, he played well and pressed them, paulinho was off the pace but great goal. Eriksen was intermittently good, as was Townsend, who faded hard in the second half. Soldado showed a lot of promise, unlucky not to score at least once, Sigurdsson, Naughton and Dawson poor. Lloris did alright, could've been sent off.

Loved the impact of Lamela and Holtby when they came on, really helped us really press, and Kane had a good cross.

harsh ratings - we dominated that game from start to finish, but for their keeper putting on a clinic we win easily.

Dawson - 7.5

Walker - 7

Siggy - 7

Dembele - 7.5

Paulinho - 7

Townshend - 6.5 (-0.5 for being greedy)

I'm sorry but no, no and no. Naughton was indeed shockingly poor though. He is actually a very decent right back but I find it unacceptable that a professional footballer in the premier league is unable to play on his weaker side. I mean bloody hell, we all know that it can feel very uncomfortable being turned on to our weaker side, but he is expecting that to happen and should be prepared. You know you have no left foot so you just don't allow yourself to be put into that position. He just needs to move the baller quicker, pick a pass inside, or use the keeper. The pass to the keeper that nearly killed us would have been fine 10 seconds earlier when he first got the ball but instead he gets it and waits to be closed down. He then moves it towards the line knowing he will not actually play it up the line, then he turns around under pressure, doesn't play the ball out of his feet and gives lloris a suicide ball. Jesus christ almighty.

Dembele was good I thought as was Paulinho. They both gave it away a couple of times but that is going to happen when you have the ball 2 hundred times in a game. Soldado was excellent, had a few efforts on goal, worked hard, involved in play, held it up.

I haven't been as happy with a goal for a long, long time. We look extremely good.

I hate voting for the goal scorer, but the reason we had so much possession is because he was a destroyer in front of our defence.

Lloris - 5 - Shaky

Walker - 6.5 - Not bad, not outstanding either. Good in defense, worked hard.
Dawson - 7 - Led the backline.
Vertonghen - 6.5 - Solid enough.
Naughton - 5.5 - Mixed performance...the blunders were a no-no but I give him sympathy for being on his weaker side...I really liked his play going forward, his technical abilities are really strong. Would start at RB for other teams.

Dembele - 8 - Dominated the game but did tire out at the end.
Paulinho - 7.5 - Great goal but I thought he played second fiddle to Dembele for most of the game.

Townsend - 7 - Provided a lot of good play and always a threat going forwards.
Eriksen - 7 - Good performance.
Sigurdsson - 5.5 - Looked very tired, maybe understandable, not a good performance though.

Soldado - 7 - Played well enough, maybe unlucky not to score but maybe needs to finish one of those. Good holdup play too though.

Lamela - 7 - Pleased with his play, great assist.
Holtby - 7.5 - Brought some real spark, great passing, lovely ball to Lamela.
Kane - 6.5 - Almost scored a beauty, thought he contributed well to the buildup and though nothing amazing, not a bad performance at all.

Lloris - 6.5

Walker - 7
Dawson - 7 (Other than his yellow actually thought he was better than Jan, and did numerous tackles to break down Cardiff's attack)
Jan - 6.5 (Solid for most part, but did nearly get caught out first half despite Naughton's back pass being shocking)
Naughton - 5

Dembele - 7
Paulinho - 7.5

Townsend - 7 (looks a real attacking threat, just needs to improve decision making and not force the shot when their are better options)
Eriksen -7 (very composed passer of the ball)
Sigurdsson - 7 (Came close to scoring and created a few decent chances.

Soldado - 6.5 (movement was good, but one chance in particular he could have done better, too many shots at the keeper)

SUBS
Lamela - 7 (Looked lively, looking sharper each game, time for him to start)
Kane - 6.5 (Fairly solid appearance, held the ball well and his crossing and movement looked decent)
Holtby - 7.5 (Only on for short period of time, but a typical energetic performance from him coupled with 2 sublime passes one which put Lamela through leading to the goal. This is the kind of performance we been hoping for from him)
