I think people might be a bit miserable here . We had a shedload of chances...a premium size shed too . We had Palace pinned back denying them any decent chances .This indicates we were doing something right to me . Maybe not the finest performance , but thoroughly deserved win .

I don't go along with the poster here saying a hard game to watch . Hard games are where we are conceding chance after chance while our nerves shred . We don't do that much these days , so not a hard watch at all .

Then of course we won and went back into top 4 ... so no worries here and onto the next .

I am a Dembele fan and I actually thought he was better than Eriksen.

I don't want to start an argument re Eriksen but i think he is extremely overrated.

Onions and all that.

Edit: Watch me get "disagrees" from the Eriksen fan boys without them giving any reasons.

It had 77% of the ball. At a fuss I’d say that’s in top 5 away performances by any club this season. We easily could have won 4-0. Palace to took city to the wire with exactly same display.

Lloris 7 Quiet game for our Captain, nothing of note to do

Aurier 4 Terrible performance, 3 foul throw and missed a sitter.... did make a potential goal saving challenge in 2nd half, otherwise would have been a 1
Sanchez 8 Solid performance
Dier 7 - Played well, couple of sloppy passes again but overall stepped in for big Verts well, but do need him back ASAP with Toby
Davies 6 Played OK....

Dembele 6 not his best game but done enough
Wanyama 6 Ok

Alli 6 Missed some chances and poor passing at times, should have had a pen though, worried about his form
Eriksen 7 Played OK....
Lamela 5 Poor today, glad he went off

Kane 7 not his best performance at all, would have been a nightmare if we dropped points today but he got the winner again so bailed us out again!!

Subs
Moura 7 Looks promising, tried a few things and done well at the end in their corner
Son 6 - didn't have much time to do anything albeit won the corner for the winner so done more than Lamela in his 10 mins

Poch -- Subs were better today but still 3 defenders on bench with Llorente, Winks completely omitted, don't get me wrong Llorente is shit but he will play him on Wed night I'm sure so what does that do for his confidence if he cant even get on bench but we have 3 defenders on it

I was just genuinely intrigued to know how anyone saw him as MOTM today? Just seemed so random.

My guess is a combination of us being worried in the build up with Dier and Sanchez in a partnership and a general feeling as the game went on that there could have been a sucker punch. Which they pretty clearly snuffed out.

I'd probably go for Sanchez myself for similar reasons. You mentioned Wanyama but did we really rely on him today, most of their attacks bypassed our midfield so the CBs had more work than him.

Midfield I think we've just come to expect more. This wasn't Dembele's game at all. Alli and Lamela worked very hard and Eriksen was ticking over the game as he always does (classy player) but all of them and the great one himself (Kane) had a fair few sloppy moments today.

Overall a frustrating game but a fully deserved win, which could have been much more enjoyable without missed sitters or a blind/conflicted ref.

Palace fought for their lives, put everyone behind the ball and completely shelled it - yes we stuttered around the box but even so Kane could've (and maybe should've) had a hatrick.

On days like thIs it was all about digging out the points and not giving in, playing right to the end and believing we could nick it. Fergie's Man Yoo had plenty of performances like this one, being stifled by dogged opponents and not playing well around the box, but still managing to find a way to win. It's a good sign and one that holds us in good stead for the run in and beyond.

Those points today were vital, possibly season changing given how close the 2nd - 4th fight is. That's all Poch and the players should be caring about with 10 league games to go, getting as high as possible, CL next year and hopefully snagging a cup along the way.

No one stood out but nice to see Vic back (although not quite 100%), minutes for Lamela and Lucas, and a clean sheet without our CB pairing we'd have called our strongest at the start of the season. Have to win next Saturday especially with the Chels playing City...

87% chance to qualify for UCL according to 538

I'm not sure if that includes the 7% chance their models are giving us to win it.

How the fuck could anyone not rate our own cool Dane?

I mean you read some nonsense at times on here, but to say Eriksen is over rated is one of the most retarded statements yet.

He's one of the best players in the PL, and I'm praying we keep him for years to come. Stunning footballer.

Dier for me today. I know he gave up the one bad pass but he also covered a few times and helped us win the ball back immediately when others made bad passes. Eriksen and Dele both did their thing but the final 3rd was too congested until Son came on and helped open it up. Would have liked Dembele off earlier with Eriksen dropping deeper, just because this was not a the style game that we really need Dembele after the 60th minute.

Feel a bit for Alli re the second pen. MOTD did a big piece about him diving, but that was one of those one's where the player has to dive, what else can he do, the keeper has come out and dived in, not getting anywhere near the ball, if Alli doesn't dive over him, he just runs straight into him.

This whole bollocks about diving has become a bit ridiculous now. I understand Alli has dived previously, and when it's blatant and not even close to being a foul it deserves criticism, but not every dive isn't a penalty, sometimes you have to dive to earn a legitimate pen. The keeper in this case dives out, doesn't get the ball but denies Alli access to it in a scoring situation.

Maybe it’ll take a player just running full pelt and seriously injuring a GK to understand.

First is a stonewall pen
