Trouble is, we have such a good side at the moment we can't afford to play someone in the first 11 if they give the ball away in dangerous positions on a regular basis.

I don't want to give up on him, but I personally don't think he should be starting games.

Particularly away from home. I would agree.

First half was exceptional and we were unlucky not to go in 3-0 up if anything.

Second half our fullbacks performances dropped off. Davies started playing a bit poorly and for some god unknown reason nobody wanted to pass to Walker anymore who had been causing problems in the first half. Kane got tired. I still thought that Alli and Lamela were both very good all game though.

Eriksen....Eriksen is pissing me off. Hardly involved beyond a few nice touches, no longer running behind the defence or shooting dangerously. Doesn't press or offer anything defensively. Gave the ball away softly for their goal and when we got a freekick on the edge of their box he didn't fucking take it! What is he offering? I get why people defend the guy, he's an amazing footballer but his form is poor by his standards. He seems to struggle with Poch's fitness regime more than anyone and in my (not very important) opinion is probably overtraining. He looks like he could do with a rest so he can come back and enjoy his football more. That's another thing I'm confused about because he regularly stays on the pitch longer than the rest of the forwards.

Leicester at home in the cup I imagine he, Chadli, Bentaleb and Son will be getting a game. Maybe a start for Onomah too.

Chadli always looks rusty if he's not getting consistent starts, which is a bit of a concern as he's not good enough for our starting XI these days.

I'm really confused. I thought Eriksen and Carroll were great today (at least in the first half) and were by no means poor, even if you take the second half into consideration.

Eriksen poor? What were you watching? I've been on his back all season but that was the best game he's had in a while and as soon as he came off we looked worse.

Agree. I thought that was the wrong sub. Eriksen was pushing us forward very well, still pussies out of challenges far too frequently

Watched the same game as you Eisnstein. As Spurrific said he is a bottler, where once instead of playing to the whistle he nearly caused us to concede a goal. I will agree he had glimpses of the player we know he should be, but overall he was not incisive with the ball, and was fickle without it. So I stand by my opinion therefore my rating, You can give him MOTM for all I care.

Agree on Eriksen, he exerted more influence than he has done recently.

Carroll did good things, but he also did some dodgy things in dodgy positions, which isn't acceptable for a team looking to finish top 3.

It was a good performance. Everton away is not easy. 1 point is a good result.

Probably the best I've seen us this season in the first half, we were insatiable and very, very unlucky to concede... Think 2 or 3 nil would have been a fair reflection at the end of 45 minutes. However second half was very disappointing for me, feel Martinez outsmarted Poch tactically and he was too slow to respond to the changes made. Carroll was lagging the last 20 and was making mistake after mistake, can't believe he didn't reach for Bentaleb. The team as a whole completely fell off the pace and looked shattered from the pressing, really hope this isn't going to be a regular occurrence as pressing and high tempo is integral to our success. Need a back up for Kane, he could barely move from about 60 minutes onwards, not really his fault. Draw was a decent prospect pre-match, at half time it felt like 3 points were there for the taking. All in all, a draw is arguably a fair-ish result given how they improved second half and had some very good chances. Goodison away is never an easy fixture and they will take points off of our rivals in the second half of the season.

Lloris - 7 - Another class save and commanded his box well, still his distribution is a bit shit.
Walker - 7 - Got up and down well and produced a fantastic cross in the first 10 minutes, was pegged back a bit 2nd half
Toby - 8 - Class act who seemingly never mistimes a tackle... What an assist too. Masterful signing.
Verts - 7 - Coped with Lukaku very well today but lost points for being a fucking pussy for the Lennon shot.
Davies - 7 - Our first choice LB now, very good offensively and unlucky not to score - mixed bag vs Lennon & Delofeou
Carroll - 6.5 - Very good first half and some neat interplays and even looked quite physical at times. Fell apart last 20 and could have gifted them several goals. Stil not a starter for me.
Dier - 6.5 - Put himself about in first half but second half passing was off and he disappeared in last 20, really needs a prolonged rest as he seems to be completely knackered
Lamela - 7 - Good strength and constant pressing epitomises our play. Felt he wasn't as good as in recent weeks but an integral part of the team.
Eriksen - 6.5 - Split between at 6.5 and a 7. First half he was actually very good in places, almost unlocking their defence on several accounts. Weak in the build up for their goal and in many 50-50's. Disappeared 2nd half but so did most of the team.
Alli - 7.5 - Was everywhere today and despite not always picking the right option or over doing things, he was a key reason we dominated to much in the first half. Insanely well taken goal and unlucky to be hauled off (think we suffered when he did go off)
Kane - 6.5 - Not really his fault but he was basically immobile in the second half, never seen him look so tired. First half good and unlucky not to score. Needs a rest.

Son - 5.5 - Looked very weak and ineffectual, needs to learn how to press effectively and just to play it simple. Feels very like Lamela a few seasons ago.
Chadli - 5.5 - Looked like he couldn't get up to the pace of the game and next, to no effect.
Onomah - NET

Pochettino - 5.5 - Poor use of subs and wasn't reactive or proactive. Either take the initiative and change tactically (second half) or react to the changes made by the opposition. He did neither and we suffered for it as Everton padded out their midfield, pressed higher up the pitch and bought on different personnel.

Agreed. Especially with the way some of their recent results had gone Martinez would have felt some pressure if they had lost at home to us - they consider themselves top 4 contenders remember.

I thought that it was interesting that Martinez was trying to spin the first half into a fantastic defensive effort from them in his post match interview - we could have been 3 up by half time!

Would have taken the point before hand and am pleased with it. Will be at the Lane for Leicester in the league which is must win.

Lloris - 7.5 - Great save in the second half
Walker - 7 - Sound defensively and put in a couple of dangerous crosses
Alderweireld - 7.5 - Great ball for the goal, Mr. dependable at the back
Vertonghen - 7 - Played well
Davies - 6.5 - Defended his side well, especially when Deulofeu came on, didn't get to the byline often enough
Carroll - 6.5 - I don't understand why he has to have been completely shit or amazing. Good on the ball, dominated off of it.
Dier - 6 - Looked extremely rigid today, I think he might be due a couple weeks off.
Lamela - 6 - Didn't really get into the game as he has done in previous weeks. Tenacious bugger though.
Eriksen - 7 - Strange choice to take him off IMO.
Alli - 8 - Ran and ran and ran, took is goal really well and generally got into great positions.
Kane - 5.5 - Looks as if all these games are catching up on him. Didn't see the desire today, movement was poor also.

Son - 4 - Really bad when he came on, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt though, after moveing to a new club and then to be out for a while with an injury isn't ideal.
Chadli - NET
Onomah - NET

Son needs to take closing down lessons from Lamela. Eriksen put a better shift in but still not at his best. Carroll was sloppy at times. Otherwise decent performances all round. Unlucky not to win.

I think today was the best time to put him on from the start, Carroll did a decent job but showed we missed Dembelle.

the only problem with starting Son, would of been if they had still got the 1st goal (Lennon:devil:) Alli wouldn't of been on the end of Toby's long ball.

Harry never really got the service today, and played against a very good C/H in Stones.

Lloris - 7.5
Walker - 7
Toby - 8
Verts - 7
Davies - 7
Dier - 6
Carrol - 6.5
Lamela - 6.5
Eriksen - 6.5
Alli - 8
Kane - 6

Wow what a game of football we have just witnessed. That first half we absoutley dominated them.yes they sat back, yes there players are good on the ball and can play it out in dangerous positions, yes martinez had a game plan but that was a really good first half performance everyone played well I thought, we pressed them so high up the pitch they couldn't get out there half, we were keeping the ball so well and were lookimg so comfortable passing it around, Carroll was spraying it around playing some lovely balls.how was we not at least two nill up? Very very unlucky and in the end even tho I was glad we was level I felt disappointed we was not winning as we played so well. We had the chances and should of been winning.

Even though they scored from there only chance in that half I was not really worried, we carried on playing how we was. We did not let our heads go down and got the goal at such a great time.

2nd half was different, Everton came out and looked much more a threat. I thought we had some good spells but as soon as Everton made the sub I thought they were looking the better side and looked like the team who were going to score. It was end to end stuff tho but we always seemed to mess it up or make the wrong decision. Our subs were a bit questionable again, why not use benteleb? We needed some control in midfield son was not great when he came on he just ran around messed up a few chances and did not look comfortable, no point of bringing chadli on he don't do anything. What a end to that game my heart was pounding. End to end both sides making mistakes. In the end i was happy when the whistle went asEverton were Looking like they were gonna score and we were just being sloppy giving it away in dangerous positions but it wasn't like we did not have chances either we just seemed to make the wrong ball or lose it, intense game.

I have to say we defended very well all our back four apart from the goal, Davies was superb near the end

Very good game which we could of won first half but in the end I think we are happy with a point.

Lloris some important stops come of his line well a couple of times

Walker done well defended well and got forward well at times but just wanted a bit more from him when he got into them good spaces down the wing a great ball in the first half

Toby great

Vertonghen very good apart from the goal maybe should of done better

Davies thought he could of done better for the goal also I thought he was getting caught a few times down his side few times but he dealt with deulofue so well when he came on who I think is a very dangerous player but Davies stayed with him and made some great challenges and blocks etc so unlucky not to score .he defended very well near the end

Dier made some good challenges blocks etc worked hard. Quite a few times in the 2nd half he made the wrong ball done well enough

Carroll real good first half made some lovely balls, worked hard throughout the game stayed with Barkley linked up well with eriksen kept the ball going quick passes made some near costly mistakes near the end but apart from that thought he played well

Lamela love him but was actually not his best day, done well enough tho.showed some great skill' made some decent runs some lovely link up play in first half worked hard as usual, pressed well got back well etc all the things he does well but some silly fouls he didn't need to do and wasted some good opportunitys

Ali very very good goal was complaining about his touch thought he showed some poor touches again early on but what a touch and finish for goal. Worked hard made some nice balls but didn't do that much else apart from the goal

Eriksen good first half looked lively on ball made some clever through balls ppl complaining carol lightweight eriksen is very lightweight gave it away for the goal quiet 2nd didn't look up to it

Kane very poor game tbh apart from his wonderful chance he gave it away run into trouble made fouls etc frustrating game was not his day but if that chance had gone in it would of been different

Thought Davies was very good. It really is a shame he is slow, if he was fast he'd be one hell of a LB IMO.

I always wondered why slow footballers don't take up speed training to take their game to a next level. You don't have to be naturally fast to be fast with the right body work and training

Thought the back 5 played extremely well.

Alli is a gem, worked hard with his running off and what a goal.

Dier as part of the defensive block was good

Carroll was tidy but not strong enough to really control the game had a few silly moments.

Kane definitely needs a break he fell apart at the end...a bit worried with that.

Eriksen had a very good first half I was a bit disappointed he got subbed coz he's a match winner.

Lamela as we all know worked like a demon but wasn't so good in the final third.

How we never won that game on our first half performance but at the end of the game I was pleased we never lost.

Team rating 7.5
