I guess it's time to look over our shoulders as Arsenal start to creep up.

What can you say, imo theres no point having a go at anyone player but Mourinho and his negativity. His use of subs were treble, the formation poor and our attitude even worse, we were lucky Liverpool didn't really hammer us.

However the biggest QUESTION mark has to be the board ie Daniel LEVY. The lesson from today is, you get what you pay for. We're forever looking at 3rd and 4th options of late loans, cast offs and players running into their final contract years, as for our defence... just is not good enough.

Lloris 1 - should firstly have came for the first goal

secondly he should never have palmed that back out

thirdly - has to give Rodon a shout

Doherty 0 - he could be the worst footballer,I have ever seen

Rodon 4 - yeh, stopped two certain goals but then cost us one but I blame Hugo a bit for that too he’s young and learning.

Dier 0 - fuck I thought Toby was bad vs wycombe but this prick OH MY GOD, constantly getting beat by 4ft midgets in the air and physically I just don’t know how he starts every game? Jose is definitely having handjobs or something off him as if anybody else goes as far as tying their shoelace wrong they are out of the team for six weeks but this prick mistake after mistake Jose still plays him. Davies 3 - played with painkillers and you could tell seen a sloth move quicker when it’s tied to a tortoise.

Hojbjerg- 6 - least he ran about and cared and tried . But sadly he’s not capable of being a midfield all on his own.

N’dombele -6 -tried hard but then also gave up when he realized he was playing with a team of statues had to beat 5 men at a time sometimes to then see his team mates were standing still next to him.

Bergwijn 5 - tried worked as hard as PEH but don’t know what he is at the moment, don’t think he even knows what he is meant to be doing.

Son 1 - his hot streak has finished so we are about another 5/6 games away from his next streak he was shocking.

Kane - should have gone off the first time he was hurt we played with 10 men from that moment he got injured.

The subs well I’ve never seen subs as bad as it ????!

1st half we were ok; we played our game at least.
2nd half without Kane we failed to compete at all, to the point where Liverpool never got out of 2nd gear because we offered no threat.
This game proves that without Kane we are not a top-6 side.
Without Kane there's no one who can protect the ball well enough to build something. We looked hurried and played more and more centrally because no one has the ability or confidence to turn a defender and go down the line. Lamela is a prime-example.
On the other hand Mane and Salah kept running at our defenders from the flanks; they didn't succeed everytime but they were keen to take us on. We don't pressure them enough or get tight enough on them; i don't think it's for a lack of trying, our full backs just aren't good enough to cope.
And there lies the difference.

2 subs were poor & we never got into the game in the 2nd half apart from a shot out of the blue.

Højbjerg massive. Ndombele brilliant first half, quiet second, after moving to the 10 position, with nobody to feed him. He needs to be in the pivot, I don't see anyone else bringing the ball upfield as consistently.

3 really shit goals to concede. But when you play such a high risk strategy by defending so deep, your defensive unit have to be faultless. Today they were hopeless

Hugo- 5 really poor from him. Made a couple of instinctive saves but the parry out to TAA was pretty amateur, as was the lack of decisiveness for the firmino goal. A poor performance
Aurier- 5 went to sleep on the first goal
Rodon 5 one really good recovery tackle, poor on the ball and a shocking error for the mane goal. A poor performance
Dier 5 Not the cb to build your defence around. Not a good passer, not the best positionally, Not a good performance
Davies- 6 steady but unremarkable. A long way from the worst on the pitch although will no doubt get pelters on here
Doherty 4 Not good. If a player was getting hooked at HT I’m not sure why it wasn’t Doherty. A shadow of the player we signed from wolves
Hojbjerg 7 great goal, all action performance.
Ndombele 7 more highlight reel performance on the ball, less effective in the second half when pushed forward into the Liverpool block.
Bergwijn 6- steady but unremarkable. A long way from the worst player on the pitch although will no doubt get pelters on here
Son 6- dangerous in the first half, unlucky to have a goal disallowed but should have done better with the chance at 0-0 on his left foot. Offered nothing in the second half as a CF.
Kane 6-The winter injury strikes again. Fucked without him.

Winks 5 -To play ahead of Sissoko, you have to be able to pass accurately. Otherwise what’s the point.
Lamela- 2 we’ll I guess this is his dele alli moment. Given a chance. Did absolutely fuck all with it. Should not be selected ahead of bale /Lucas again. Abysmal
Bale 6 -showed more in 15mins than most. Will need to step up in Kane is out for any length of time.

Jose 5. Poor strategy with the available players.
Poor in game management and choice of subs. Such a bad idea to play a right footer at lwb,thus negating anything that position could offer. Then leaving a midfield 2 against a team that relies on midfield dominance. Poor strategy from the start.

Lloris - 4 - Really did not command his area at all well. Should have done much, much better for the first goal even though Dier was a joke and Aurier let Mane run off him yet again.
Aurier - 3 - Not sure he realised he was supposed to be marking Mane when we defended.
Rodon - 5 - One great tackle, but thrown in the deep end and made a 'schoolboy error' that cost us the third goal
Dier - 3 - Crap distribution, total dithering for their opener and looks a shadow of the CB who came back from the lockdown last June so dominant.
Davies - 6 - Should have been playing LB.
Doherty - 4 - Should not have been playing at LB.
Hojbjerg - 7.5 - Our best player but was still below his best.
Ndombele - 7.5 - Several outstanding moments to break the lines, but as the game wore on his head dropped.
Bergwijn - 6 - Runs about and tries hard.
Son - 7 - Him and his dad must be wondering why he should sign a new contract with us - any team in the world would take him.

Mourinho - 2 - Picked a really naive formation and personnel for such an important game. I know we had injury problems but still, if we're playing deep play Toby or Sanchez so we can have a left footed LB playing at LB. All year we've wanted to see Ndombele and Hojbjerg at the base of our midfield in a CM 3 and he does it as a 2 against a 3 man Liverpool CM?! After 30 mins you could see it was just a matter of time until Liverpool scored. Mane had 4 really good chances and somehow didn't score any of them. Second half we come out all at sea and we make several mistakes and gift them a goal after 2 mins. The players look devoid of confidence and unless Kane plays a Hoddlesque pass for Son to finish we have nothing. Mourinho was totally schooled by Klopp today, and Liverpool are miles ahead of us in every department. On the form of the last 2 months we will not finish anywhere near the top 4, will finish below Arsenal and West Ham, and will do so playing the worst football in the league. Someone ironically said in the match thread they couldn't wait to see Mourinho doing his clever tactical stuff. Well, turn out he is very much a one trick pony it would seem.
