Didnt feel like it, but when I do not, I get quite a few inbox messages requesting it.

Not blaming you fella. It was more a comment about how we are all going to react on this thread tonight rather than the thread itself

We really need to shift a lot of players on, too many XI are squad players at best, a lot of our bench options should've been moved on a couple of windows ago.

There was a lot of woe is me attitude going on out there too.

Jose's subs made little sense to me (injuries aside)

BTW an extra fuck off to TV broadcasters showing klopp etc whilst there's a game of football being played!

Hojbjerg - Head and shoulders above everyone
Ndombele - Very good in patches
Rodon - Our best defender, 3rd goal aside
Bergwijn - Good first half

Everyone else varying levels of poor.

Jose - Got pretty much everything wrong

It feels harsh to rate Kane at all. He was an inch away from a solid assist and played no part in the fact that it wasn't. And then he got crocked less than half an hour later, before trying to soldier on (perhaps unwisely) anyway. I imagine he feels as bad about tonight as anyone on here. Probably would've continued on with no legs on another night.

Good - Hojbjerg
Solid - Rodon
Average - Aurier, Son, Kane, Ndombele
Bleh - Bergwijn
Bad - Davies, Lamela, Winks, Lloris
Shambolic - Doherty, Dier
Not Enough Time / Game Was Already Finished - Bale

First goal was the key. Whichever team got it was going to get the result. That shambolic moment between Dier and Lloris killed us. Hugo should probably go under Shambolic, but made a couple decent saves first half so can't quite drop him down to Doherty/Dier levels.

We are a goal down at half time. Kane off injured. No problem , we have Bale who can play up front with Son. Presumably we signed him for a reason. Great opportunity for him to step up. Not a good enough reason for Jose though. Ok let’s see Vinicius then. Presumably we signed him for a reason too. No, not for Jose either. Obviously Lamela was a much better option than either Bale or Vinicius. Didn’t work out too well though Jose. He contributed zero.

Then we have the curious case of Toby, our best and most reliable defender who is not good enough for Jose. No, Dier can fuck up again and again, he is clearly irreplaceable and the first name on the team sheet.

And Doherty has been shit all season, so let’s compound it by playing him on the left side where he can be even more shit than usual. No choice right ? Wrong, we should have played a back 4 with Aurier and Davies as full backs. But Jose knows best obviously.

Exactly what Rose said in the documentary. Players shit in games, shit in training and get trotted out every game regardless.

There’s a lot of bitching about the manager and his selection and tactics but the game was lost through individual mistakes. Start of game Aurier asleep Mane in behind and should score. For the rest of the half it was fairly even and but for a marginal offside we would have been ahead. End of 1st half Aurier asleep, Mane in behind crosses and Dier decides not to clear the ball and Firmino behind him says thanks( this is not the first time he has let a ball go past him in the 6 yd box).
Second half Kane’s off injured and here JM f**ks up big time. It’s got to be either Vinny(isn’t this exactly why we got him) or Bale. Instead we get Lamela who was notable by being nonexistent.
Saying that we start the half asleep Dier gives the ball away, Lloris palms a shot to AA and we’re 2 down. Hojbjerg scores to get us back in the game but then Rodon(who’d had a good game till then) gifts Mane a shot and goal.
For the rest of the half we weren’t in it mainly due to the poor substitutions and a general lack of desire.
So overall regardless of what people think of the the managers selection and tactic we lost because of really poor individual mistakes which was compounded by Kane going off and poor substitutions which completely neutralized us in the second half. You can be the best manager in the world but you won’t win games if so many players make such poor mistakes as they did in this game.

For the longer serving fan, this felt like when you need a new pair of stiff leather shoes, but want your old ones that have moulded to your feet. They are old, have a few holes and the soles are worn down. But they fit and feel like they should be there. They are serviceable and comfy, but won't stand upto challenging conditions. Probably have about early summer before you need to bin them and need new ones that will require wearing in properly.

Eugh, that defence. The only way we look solid at the back is when we have three midfielders protecting them, with the obvious implications for our attacking play. Desperately need a new CB and RB.

PEH and Ndom played well.

Tanguy was good and PEH was amazing.

Rest ranging from poor to various degrees of shite.

Tanguy, Rodon (except for his error) and PEH all had decent games. Not much to say about the rest except none would get more than a 5/10.

Were decent in the first half and largely matched them until the goal screw up, Aurier messed up but Dier and or Lloris both had the chance to prevent the goal. Lloris should have done better on the second goal but a half arse clearance by Dier and Doherty getting turned like a schoolboy contributed as well.

The substitutions didn’t have any positive impact and I thought Winks coming pushed Ndombele further forward where he was less effective and the combo of Doherty and Lamela down the right was just poor.

PEH - Motm by some distance
Ndombele - had some good moments
Berjiwyn and Son - both decent in the first half but ineffective in the second
Rodon - put in a good performance apart from the gift
Dier, Lloris, Doherty and Aurier - just appalling performances
Thought Bale made a couple of intelligent runs but ability of anyone playing the ball to him - nil

Jose - Doherty on the left was a mistake that made no sense except to him, the substitutions were poor although gifting goals either side of halftime is a killer.
